Jokes of and about audiophiles
This is the truth. My Grandfather was visiting and looking at my CD collection, of course he had to ask what they were. My answer of CD only ment one thing to him, Certificate of Deposite, I had to explain what they were. As he looked at how many ...
Coping in an Age of Uncertainty
SACD is great and the 777ES is actually pretty good on regular cd as well.
Break-in proceedure Scd777ES???

I have the Sony SCD 777ES, it doesn't have a center foot so I can't say about that, but the digital filters have no effect if you are using you machine as a transport, they are only effective with the analog ouput.
Do I really need a preamp?
You should check out a passive unit, it will add almost nothing to the sound but will add the source switching you need. Check out the kit from http://www.welbornelabs.com

Sony ES CD Player Cult--which sound best
I can't say about those Sony CD players, but I can say my 777ES SACD makes for a much better transport than my Sony 7000 DVD player.

Anyone heard Jena Labs cables?
I have had several Jena cables in the past, they offer a very smooth and laid back presentation.

Anyone heard or own the CTC Blowtorch?
Robert, there is a review of the Blowtorch in the new issue of Ultimate Audio. I have not heard the unit but I know Bob Crump and of course he tells me the unit is fantastic.
This hobby is getting weird ....
I once had a preamp that would pickup radio broadcast from Mexico or at least the language was spanish.
Reference Line Audio?
You should check with Gaylon Carol Audio, he is or at least was a dealer for Reference Line. His web site is gcaudio.com
