Vintage DD turntables. Are we living dangerously?
No, the P3a was from a friend in Hong Kong, and the SP10MK3 from Yahoo Japan. Actually, a local Sony PS X9 slipped through my fingers just a couple on months ago!
Vintage DD turntables. Are we living dangerously?
I wish I have a Sirius III, but no such luck yet! My Rockport 6000 arm is a simplified version of the Sirius III arm, and it is on a Capella II TT.However, I am also in the process of setting up a Sirius II, so it would be interesting nevertheless...
Vintage DD turntables. Are we living dangerously?
Hi Halco, I was also blown away the first time I auditioned the Sirius III at the dealer over 10 years ago! However, I didn't notice any lack of mid-bass to lower-bass definition and power, maybe due to the different setup. Not sure about the air-...
Vintage DD turntables. Are we living dangerously?
Rockport came the closest with its Sirius III Hi Halco, just wonder whether you have any measurement figures on the Rockport Sirius III, with Timeline or otherwise. I am really interested to see how the Sirius III compares to vintage Japanese DD ...
Clear audio professional or klaudio record cleaner
A word of caution to anyone getting the RW600, make sure you try it out with some trashed LP for the first few washes. Our group ordered a few RW600s, while most were fine, there was one unit that caused heat damage to the LP in the lead-in groove...

Van Den Hul what is the best cart ?
I went from a Benz LPS to an Ortofon Winfield Hi Stringreen, I also went from the Colibri to the Ortofon A90. While I prefer the A90 overall, I still miss the treble of the Colibri. I have recently acquired the A95, but not yet have time to set i...
Van Den Hul what is the best cart ?

Ideally they do not allow vibration to go the other way (they are mechanical diodes) Can Ralph, or other knowledgeable members, please educate me on this? Is it a scientific fact that points / cones really act as a mechanical diodes?I have heard ...
How an audio rack can enhance your amp/pre
Hi Robert,Thank you for the detailed reply!
I just returned my second defective Manley Chinook
Yes, everybody keeps hearing the same thing from me about Herron Audion. But I haven't read anybody that disputes anything I've written. Since you asked for it, I’ll share my experience! I have only auditioned the Herron VTPH-2 at the agent’s show...
How an audio rack can enhance your amp/pre
what intrigued me about the stands was the design of the Sistrum Platform which allowed a pre-determined pattern of energy, known as Coulomb Friction to develop and dissipate via a high-speed calculated conductive pathway to earth's ground. I am ...
Why so few balanced phono inputs?
You may also want to confirm whether your BAT phono really has true balanced input. Members with more knowledge on BAT please correct me if I am wrong. If I understand correctly, the early BAT phonos really had single end input. The later / curren...
Phono stage w/automatic Load-Impedanance.
My comments are based on an objective understanding (measurements, calculations, and simulations) of what a low-impedance cartridge generator is, what an interconnect is, what happens when the two are combined, what happens when resistors of vari...
Why so few balanced phono inputs?
You do have to have matched parts and I think the one that stymies many designers is how to do the EQ. That can be quite tricky if you don't know what you are doing!!Ralph, thanks for the reply! When I discussed the issue with some local DIYers, t...
