Buzz from speakers ChanThought you had buzz in one speaker only. Ground loop is often louder in one speaker, not always though. You had CJ amps before the Art Audio. Did you have a buzz with the CJ? If not, could be the transformers on the Art Audio or one of the tub...
Buzz from speakers ChanYou can also swap speakers if you have another pair. The J-2001 are VERY revealing, so that may not work. But you could put the left speaker on right side and vice versa to see if the noise travels with the speaker.
Buzz from speakers ChanTry lifting the ground on your CD player. Also try unplugging your cable system. If you have a cable TV jack coming out of wall, unplug there. Cable TV has a "ground" that is different from the electrical ground of AC. Often it is the culprit i...
NRG Control Power Amps Hello AudioGon members. Looking for a needle in a haystack.Does anyone have access to or know where I can find schematics for an NRG A201s. Also looking for an owner's manual but the schematic is the priority. Just acquired one of these amps. Look...
Magnepan 3.6r or Apogee Divas? Aloha from Hawaii.I am looking for a pair of Apogee myself, to buy. I just posted an ad on AudioGon looking for some.Apogees are known to be hard to drive, but many more recent high current solid state amps can do the job. Bi-polar amps rather tha...
Eric Clapton covers Robert Johnson Aloha from Hawaii. For those of you interested in the album but who don't want to drop $30 or so, there is a 140 gram version pressed by Classic Records as well. Found it in my local shop for $18.00. Nice and flatpressing. The music is pretty good...
Talon Raven C Speakers DavidAloha from Kapahulu. This is Terry; we may have met at Tom's store?I would think the Talon C would be fine with lesser amplification. I thought they were quite efficient. I am getting a pair of Peregrines soon; I already have a Roc.Where are ...
Soliloquy or Von Schweikert VR-1 I personally would suggest the Soliloquy. I owned VR4 for 3 years. They did some things very well, others not so well. The VR1 are made in China, and fit and finish are likely not as good as Soliloquy, whose cabinets are incredibly well made. They...

Review: Von Schweikert Audio VR4 Gen III Speaker Aloha from Hawaii:Not sure you will get this note, but two comments. I own the Generation 1 version of the VR4.1) Your speakers are way too close to the back wall to get depth. Sounds like you don't have the room to do it, and the wife might kill ...
Von Schweikert VR4, VR4.5 upgrades?? anyone Aloha from Hawaii. I have VR4 original generation. Are you saying that the upgrade of your Vortex Screens would be $3,000? If so, that seems prohibitive. Better to buy a used Generation II or even the latest Generation III, which sold/sells for ar...
best used speaker for around 2500? I would pick up a pair of Von Schweikert VR4 used. They will work wonderfully in your set up!Aloha!
