Help me solve static electricity problem
"So my wool rug is the problem, . . . "Indeed, I had what I thought was a serious issue with a piece of my equipment that through trial and error, tracked it down to static. And more interestingly, by design I could drag my 'slippered' feet (didn'...
Help me solve static electricity problem
I was also having static shocks, some strong enough to reset my Plinius integrated out of standby. Strongest shocks, and the ones causing concern, were coming off of a PS Audio Humbuster, but shocks off pretty much anything metallic. Not unexpecte...
VPI Scoutmaster feet
The VPI feet you use, these are the mini-TNT replacement feet advertised on their website? I'm trying to figure how backing the 1/4-20 thread out of the base of the TT would make things any more stable than backing the same threaded bolt on the co...
Amp transformer buzz/hum from DC on AC line?
An update to my previous post.Listening to a wider spectrum of music while using the Humbuster III, the amp still is dead quiet. But I have also found that the unit removes a very slight amount of detail from the music, what I'd call a slight redu...
Amp transformer buzz/hum from DC on AC line?
As of the last while, I had a buzzing/humming sound coming from my Plinius 9200 integrated. Fairly loud - I could hear the sound from 5 or 6 m away in my listening room - but didn't seem to affect the sound from the speakers. There was always a ve...
Amplifier hum - normal?
Resurrecting this discussion, if the hum has increased over time (and increased consistently over that period, not ebb and flow), would that pretty much rule out a DC source i.e. more so a fault of the transformer, the fault becoming worse with time?
Dedicated line help
"My electrician is running the lines on the same leg and not sharing a neutral bus"While my electrician will follow this, I'm not clear on it. I had thought all main breaker boxes have a single neutral bus i.e. there is no choice. Or am I missing ...
Laptop as Music Server - Wear?
This Fit PC2 . . . worthy of a look. At one point I was considering an MSI Wind dual core Atom PC (not the laptop version). This Fit PC2 smaller yet . . . sheesh! It's just I had the laptop sitting quite a bit of time when it wasn't being used for...
Any feedback on Rythmik Audio Subwoofers?
I purchased one of Tyler Acoustics DS12 subs; this using the Rhythmic A370-PEQ DirecServo amp and one of their drivers. I'd echo the comments from others above, as this sub is extraordinary not just for the price but compared to other quality subw...
Multipal Dedicated AC Lines vs PS Audio Quintet ?
Incredible job!
Multipal Dedicated AC Lines vs PS Audio Quintet ?
Gbart, could you expand on your method/hardware? I'm at the point of installing multiple dedicated, or figuring a way to use my existing single dedicated with multiple components (ex. pigtailing outlets . . . have two right now like that). I had t...
How any "wall pluggers" are out there?
Hi. My name is terra3. I admit. I do use power cables. I've been 'using' for 52 years.
Upgrading audience power chord to version "e"
Good question. With a set of these in my system, time and again I've considered this. Either direct replacement, or factory 'treatment'.
Music player recommendations?
Another suggestion for Cowan. Been using an XL5 for quite a while. Excellent sound. Only drawbacks that I don't like is the adapter used for both recharge and line out. Finicky, fragile adapter. But I limit use only to headphone out, and just put ...
