Turntable rumbling if its rumble, get a filter?
Black Orpheus tri wires Nice aquisition. I read an article a few years back (sorry dont recall which publication) that concluded the Black Orpheus cables are essential to getting the best performance out of speakers.
Linn Axis w/basic arm/Denon DL 160 should I bite? Also-If none of your pals are into vinyl, have them over for a listening session when you get your rig set-up. Play a cd then an lp of the same pressing and ask for reactions.
Linn Axis w/basic arm/Denon DL 160 should I bite? That would be a nice set-up. The 2M red is nice but if you can swing it, the Blue is worth the extra bucks. Go for it-I dont think you will regret it. Also, if no lp stores in your area I suggest getting an amazon prime account ($7 per year) which...
Furman power conditioner question No experience with urman. However, I can rec an inexpensive power conditioner I recently placed in my system: Blue Circle's Thingee. Lots of good online reviews. Its only about $220 so its pretty reasonable and very effective.
Ortofon 2M Bronze vs. Grado Reference platinum To me musical means sounds more like real music rather than a recording. Why does one sound musical and the aother does not? I dont know. I just describe what I hear. There are also many online reviews of the entire 2M line-up. Cheers.
totem rainmakers the totems are releaving. you might feel the need to upgrade electronics soon. An integrated amp is a good suggestion. Maybe NAD or Cambridge.
Linn Axis w/basic arm/Denon DL 160 should I bite? If you can swing a Traveler, do it.Otherwise look at Rega RP3, or for less the Debut Carbon, as MoFi suggests. Yes, the LP12 is a great TT.
Ortofon 2M Bronze vs. Grado Reference platinum Ive owned the 2M Bronze, and currently listen to 2M Blue. The Bronze was mounted on a Sota Comet and RB300 arm. Its a very good cartridge. I would describe it as a bit dry and detailed, but not cold. However, I actually prefer the Blue. Its mounte...
4 ohms vs. 8 ohms I intend to run the sub on the same tap as the mains. That's how I have it now, with good results. But my current amp doesnt have 4 and 8 ohms taps like the Jolida so I wasnt sure which to use. Plus Im new to tubes. Sounds like its safe to experie...
Any reviews of SP's Mellon Collie reissue? good to hear. thanks
Linn Axis w/basic arm/Denon DL 160 should I bite? The Axis is/was a good TT. But IMO 795 is too much for the Linn. It is an older table so you will take your chances with things like rubber dry and cracked, and bad caps etc.I have also heard of reliabiity issues with the electronic motor of the A...
Bungee Cords Rodman99999-I agree with your comments. Recently I used blue tak to couple my speakers to the stands to keep them, safe from falling over. I immediately noticed better sound-tighter bass and more detail. Very effective.
