Headcoat, I am not being dismissive when I urge you to stay satisfied with your method. Like everything else in audio, to do otherwise is a very slippery slope.
DV-50s vs Krell SACD Standard vs Denon 3910 mod
Ignoring all the hubris, my Exemplar/Denon 3910 now has reached 240 hours of breakin and is still improving. It is pretty extraordinary even now, however.
Isolation Platform - to be or not to be for CDP?
Brian, boy not in my system. Death to dynamics.
Stereophile test CD2 In/Out of Phase test:question
Presumably since the initial pulse of music is a positive pressure wave. This has always concerned me as the microphone moves away with this pressure. If it is phased properly, it seems to me that this would be a negative signal and thus with equa...
Stereophile test CD2 In/Out of Phase test:question
It is also arbitrary which side of the road on which we drive, but it helps that there is a convention. In my experience, it often is very important to have correct absolute phase. I only wish I had an easier way to switch phase.
Has anyone had experience with the Schroeder Arm
I have owned many tonearms including the Wheaton when the Mod Squad sold it as well as six straightline trackers. The Schroeder Reference on my Garrard 501 gives the greatest dynamics and plausible sense of being at the recording even that I have ...
Stereophile test CD2 In/Out of Phase test:question
Sean, I would think it would be all woofers facing the same direction should pulse together. It is curious why JBL would mismark the woofers. Maybe in the original design for which they were used the mid-range and treble were deliberately out of ph...
Stereophile test CD2 In/Out of Phase test:question
Herman, I have checked seven test records and cds that I have, and you are right, they all suggest reversing leads on one speaker. I guess this is why I have always concluded that at least for the test record or cd, that my system is in absolute p...
How low can one hear Huh?? Say again
At some point you feel the pressurization of the frequency rather than the sound of it. At one time I knew at what frequency this starts, but I no longer recall.
To Loricraft users
Sre, I may have cleaned records a second time with the same record cleaner, but it is very rare. I did discover, however, that records I had cleaned with VPI machines are much improved using the Loricraft and then further improved now that I have ...

golix, stop playing this signal in your headphones. You are bottoming out the drivers. The signal, as you note, is coming through fine, but the headphones cannot reproduce it. Try it on speakers that can go below 35 Hz or at least have some signal...

Kana813, are these TEAC products imported in to Canada? I long ago got a P1 transport for 110 volts from Canada. Is the G0 the atomic clock that can also be used with the UX-1?
Record Cleaner
No, but I guess this is the kind of phrase that I take so much notice of in grading papers. He is implying that nothing could do better without ever trying other products. As always, I am merely saying that in my experience, the Loricraft is the b...
To Loricraft users
Yes, Vinyl1 is volatile. Vinyl2 is much more volatile, however. Are you speaking of Vinyl1, the cleaner? I have found 8 spritzes will allow me to use the brush and go around perhaps ten times. I use an old Optrix bottle for this. I do not pay atte...

Opps, you are right for compression drivers, and it will be hard to see what direction they go. I guess you could put a candle in front and see the drag on the flame.
