Acoustic resonators in place of room treatment
Audioblazer, you are basically dealing with only five pieces with the SR ARTs, but again one has to experiment with placement, but not what metal is used. I bought the ARTs after hearing a demonstration of both the Acoustic Resonators and the then...
How can you not have multichannel system
I agree with Tvad and Pettyofficer, and I certainly wished all of my recordings rivaled the very best, but I must say that what I am hearing on the worst and the best of my recordings has improved greatly in the last ten years.I well remember my f...
Acoustic resonators in place of room treatment
I was impressed by the Acoustic resonators and was impressed. Then I heard the Synergistic Research ARTS. I bought them on the spot.
Anyone heard the Nordost Odin cables ?
Sorry, but I was not at all impressed with what I heard at shows. I always preferred the Valhalla and I don't like it much. The Stealth Indra was clearly better.
Is extremely accurate "VTA" adjustment necessary?
Enjoy!
Is extremely accurate "VTA" adjustment necessary?
Newbee, yes, a rational for ignoring adjustment of your VTA-exactly but why have to tell others it is irrelevant and give incorrect or exaggerated information?Once I had the Wheaton tone arm with a caliper scale. I did mark about 100 records to se...
Is extremely accurate "VTA" adjustment necessary?
Triumph, he says, "ility: We can see that cartridge VTA is normally around 10° higher than the record cutting angle. And the record cutting angle varies by around 7° whilst it is being played." Where is the proof that this is true? I think it is bs.
Synergistic New Tesla Line...Any comments?
Jylee, I think you have to say something about which grade of each you are thinking about.Bacardi, you sound like Ted describing the mix of cables that goes into each.
The best speaker you ever heard?
I would list three in no order. Reference 3A Grand Veenas, Sander Sound latest electrostats with their 1000 watt amp, and Acapella LaCampanellas. If could deal with bass below about 38 Hz, I would add the $2500 LSA1 Statement.
Who has dumped the power conditioner?
Prosoundman, after 40 plus attempts, I will stick with my Synergistic Research PowerCell, SE10.
Who has dumped the power conditioner?
Timztunz, I think that you are right on about most power conditioners lacking headroom. It looks like the Silver Circle Power One 5 is just a very large transformer. I think that others, such as Synergistic Research have found more innovative meth...
Do all toroidal transformers hum?
Almarg, don't forget dc in the line and poor construction.
Do all toroidal transformers hum?
Hum is just 60 Hz and 120 Hz vibrations within the transformer. There is probably a subtle effect of these vibrations on the ac wave, but you are right it has little effect. Yes companies frequently buy marginal transformers to assure a price poin...
Dissapointed with my new speakers
I really think you have experience with two quite different speakers. If you were happy with the Klipschs and think you should have stayed in the companies line. I cannot imagine my ever being happy with B&Ws and everytime I hear the Klipschs,...
Do all toroidal transformers hum?
Yes, it is quite normal. If you cannot hear it unless you are that close, forget about it. On big amps with modern transformers toroidal or iron core, you get humm. Many manufacturers cover transformers to reduce audible hum or soft mount them to ...
