Calvinj, I am often in Dallas/FW but at the airport. It is about four hours away. I would love to hear your system, perhaps I will need to go by Rick's and can combine that with dropping by.

Guidocorona, yep, I listen with my ears. I have heard probably 20 different class D amps and can always hear that edge. I own three different amps now. Two are class AB with one running pretty hot, The H-Cat X-10, and the other at about room tempe...

All I can say is that the rooms that have been mentioned were not among those that impressed me. I liked the PS Audio and German Physics rooms most. Both of these in the past did not impress me, but they turned the corner this year.I had one Jeff ...

Calvinj, I am told that my AMS servers is soon to be shipped. But we will be out-of-town for Thanksgiving and January is an entire waste.
Best High End Audio Manufacturer???
I cannot imagine how a company can expect to survive with poor service. Of course good design can reduce service needs sharply, but the word gets around quickly that a company has poor service. This usually means they are in financial distress and ...

Mapman, I have a Concord recording of the LA 4 outdoors. Of course, it has no ambience, but the dynamics are captured, presumably because a good recording engineer. With my much improved system, it actually sound like I am there at the recording.I...
The New Audio Research Reference 6

Calvinj, My first Pro pc went from the wall to the HFC Waveguide power center. This allowed a quieter background and thus more detail. My second one was from the HFC power center to the H-Cat amp. It resulted in a more involving image, more ambien...

Mattnshilp, I think much depends on the companies with master tapes. I have heard that SONY with the bulk of master tapes and very concerned with them deteriorating, is going to transfer them to quad DSD. If they do so an make down loads possible....
Cars. What does the typical audiophile drive?
Almarg, I was comfortable by myself, But a second person made me claustrophobic. I'm just over 6' now down from 6'2". I had plenty of head room. The handling of the Cayman with the computer was incredible. I had a 911 earlier and it was dicy. Not ...
Cars. What does the typical audiophile drive?
Czarivey, I bought a used Alfa Romero Bertone beginning in 1999. It was a wonderful experience and like a fool I sold it to buy a BMW Bavaria because of our family reaching four people. I dearly wish this car was still made in an updated version. ...
Speakers to hang on to for LIFE
Ctsooner, horns have a speed that is lacking by other speakers, but typically you need to be fifteen or more feet from them.I like the Vandersteen 7s but think the B.M.C. Aracadias are better but fundamentally different sounding. But I recognize t...
Gold or Rhodium
Audiolabyrinth, that is my opinion also. Mixed cables IMHO are always a mess.

Jfrech, apparently, Robert has agreed to change it from 240v to 117v. I wrote Robert but haven't heard yet.
