Would you put Beryllium in your ears?
Elrod, even if solid, beryllium is extremely toxic. If you damage a beryllium tweeter, for safety’s sake, it needs to be replaced ASAP! It’s that dangerous from everything I have read for many years.
DAC chips
which ess9038? There are at least three levels I know of.
Thinking about upgrading, but wondering about diminishing returns
Donvito, according to Conrad Johnson, it is rated at 270 watts, into a 4 ohm load.
All Kit are Band-Aids
The video that tweak1 provided a link for is so totally absurd.  First, the guitars do not sound properly tuned, so the difference in the tuning of one guitar compared to the other probably accounts for ALL the differences.  Second, the arguments ...
All Kit are Band-Aids
Tweak1 sounds like a hi-fi troll to me.  Spewing nonsense, trying to get us riled up.  “Being the last week of the year, we can’t listen to Dark Side of the Moon, or the solar alignment will throw all planets off their orbit, and cause the univers...
Looking for a New Cartridge
I have the Prime Signature with the Cadenza Bronze base on VPI’s recommended cartridges for it, and the sound is fantastic.  I do not see why you would be disappointed with the Cadenza Black, but wonder why VPI did not recommend it over the Bronze...
The Future of Audio Amplification
Stevecham, and yet Paul McGowan of PS Audio maintains that the Stellar is no match for the BHK, or Class A and AB in general.  He produces them mostly because of customer demand.
Where to buy Rotel products?
Rotel.com shows nine dealers in Houston, plus numerous others near Houston.
I Need Contact Info for Qobuz
Shoff, I haven’t heard a comparison of 24 bit vs. MQA, but as MQA is a lossy format, my money is on 24 bit.  And before anyone chimes in that MQA isn’t lossy, it’s developer, Bob Stewart acknowledges that it is.  However, he believes that the loss...
What is the first album you purchased, and do you still have it?
My first I actually had five first albums, bought at a McCrory’s in York, PA back on 1965. I only still have one, the 4 Seasons’ Dawn album, and it still sounds as clean as it did back during it’s first play.
What will a preamp do for me?
Several of you are claiming that digital volume controls are inferior to non-digital controls.  Two or three days ago, I watched a video by Paul McGowan of PS Audio saying just the opposite.  Yes, in the early days of digital, at lower volumes, th...
The Cartridge and Stylus makes a big difference.
How well any cartridge performs depends on how well it matches the tone arm.  It’s possible to have a inexpensive cartridge that perfectly matches it’s tonearm outperform expensive, top rated cartridges that mismatch their tone arms.  And, to get ...
What are fuses used for?
roberjerman, fuses can have a dramatic affect on sound quality.  i just recently replace the fuse in my Parasound Halo Integrated, and it made more difference than any upgrade to my system in fifty years.  To think they can't improve (or sometimes...
BEST FEMALE VOCAL EVER
Newbee is spot on about Eva Cassidy. Been a fan of hers ever since she hit the DC musical scene. She deserves to be mentioned in any discussion about great female singers. Picking only one female vocal is impossible for me. I can’t even pick my fa...
Recommend Affordable Integrated Amps (Solid State or Tube)
I currently have the original Parasound Halo, which replaced a Peachtree Nova 100W.  The Halo to me sounds much better.  Also, about six months after the warranty expired, the Peachtree started to self destruct.  When unplugging some cables, two o...
