Long time music lover looking for new music.
I'm cutting and pasting my Top 50 of The 2000s for you to check out. There may be some stuff on here you'll like. The only criteria I had was not having multiple albums by the same artist. I also had a Top 50 Electronic albums hence the weird titl...

Wow! You're just finding out about allmusic? Pitchfork is THE site for all of this style of music. I'd recommend trawling through their Best New Music section going back a few years. Tons of links to samples too.

Person Pitch is the name of the album by Panda Bear btw. Excellent modernization of Brian Wilson at his best.
Any Neko Case fans?
I'll go against the crowd and recommend Blacklisted. I also LOVE The New Pornographers .

Which artists' music do you buy without audition
I find it funny that Steely Dan is listed so many times here. Like they release albums so often that you would need to listen to 'em first to make sure they didn't release a dirt-rock album ala Nickelback or something. Jaybo...you've never EVER ju...

Unlistenable???!!! Seriously?
SACD's to avoid due to poor remastering.
Gandme...if I'm not mistaken that Norah Jones sacd is THE most controversial one ever because it was proven that it is literally a cd's content transferred onto a sacd. It's the same waveform on both discs.
Which songs/albums take you back to college?

Which Beach Boys LP after Pet Sounds
I'd go for Wilson's Smile next but I'm just going by personal experience. I am no expert but I love that album. If you are diggin' those harmonies you'll love this album.
Black-Eyed-Peas, the future of modern music?
But if the only acts that can afford to put on shows like this are pop bands for 12 year olds then what's the point?
Grant Green's version of 'Round About Midnight
I think Mark Whitfield has been sadly overlooked since he started recording around 1990 or so. His album The Marksman is superb. Burrell, Benson(pre-Breezin') and Green all rolled into one.
If I like St. Germain I'll like......
Almost EVERYTHING on the Ninja Tune label is worth a listen. I especially like most of the releases by DJ Food and Kid Koala. Don't think I've heard anything by Skalpel though. Next on my list would be:Peace Orchestra-Peace OrchestraKruder & D...
anyone heard the new Massive Attack yet?
Lokie, if you're a Massive Attack newb I'd start with Mezzanine and not the newest.
