Flea market or serious audio deals?
I think its just an extension of the "bigger fool" theory of real estate (no matter how much you paid, there is always a bigger fool willing to pay MORE than you did.

Help with best way to connect a transport to a DAC
If your DAC will decode 24/96, then I would go with the DIP and then aes/ebu to the dac.
Mail Boxes Etc. now to be called the UPS Store
Jrwr7 and Tim raise good points. For small items like cables and CDs, its just about impossible to beat USPS. $4.00 plus insurance for 2-3 day service cross-country. Have to go the extra for registered mail or Express if its really high value, tho...
CAT SL-1 vs. ARC SP-10
I have not woned both, but I do have a CAT right now. The only real issue you should be aware of is that the stepped attenuator, coupled with high overall gain makes for some issues. I have gone to using the Rothwell fixed 10dB attenuators to cont...
Mail Boxes Etc. now to be called the UPS Store
The insurance issue SHOULD (and I think is) be no problem; they charge an arm and a leg to pack, double the UPS counter rate for the shipping, and $1/$100 for insurance. Recently charged over $90 to double box and ship a DVD player that UPS web si...
60 dB phono, 19 dB preamp, Enough gain?
Sounds like plenty to me, esp. with high efficency Lowthers. I've got about 78 db total gain from my pre and it can handle a Benz Glider L2 (o.25 mv) just fine, driving 89 dB/watt/meter Vandy 3Asigs.
Amp suggestions
Horsn are gaenerally very efficient and you can use a low power amp and get very high volume levels. Some folks with horns even use tube amps that put out 10 wpc or less. Would need to know the efficency of the horns. You might run a search for ot...
To add DAC or replace CDP?
Without having heard it, there are supposed to be some killer mods for the 777ES, which will improve both CD and SACD performance. Run a search here and you should find some good leads to people who have had it done, and the suppliers. This would ...
"Polyamping" A Look to the Future or Fancy Fad?
To get an idea of the power demands of driving a woofer to realistic levels, get an amp that has power meters. Forgetting whether or not they have a high degree of absolute accuracy, just put on a disc with a well developed bass line and crank it ...
HELP I need alot of audio advice....
You might want to consider a used, older DVD/CDP. RIght now, Sony DVP S-7000 or Pioneer Elite DV-05 or 09 are available for $250-500.00 and would be a major upgrade to your APEX. The Sony compares quite favorably (not as good, but not a major step...
Yamaha RXV-630 Good enough?
If you are using this system primarily for HT, it would be fine. For high quality 2 channel you are going to want better quality than this for electronics. Maybe a high quality integrated if you are not willing to go the separates route.
New 1c's or used 2ci's
The 2cis. Will improve as you upgrade electronics and can support a pretty wide range of high end upstream gear.
What's up with Joida stuffs from Hongkong?
Biggest ? is whether Jolida will stand by amp w/warranty an dor upgrade service. Others on this site have had significant problems with "gray market" units.
Getting into audio for around 3500$...problems...
I agree that what you are probably looking at is system mismatch based on lack of an active pre-amp. The CAL CDPs of that group (CL-10, CL-15, CL-20 - OK thats a DVD-) are all pretty good. I would definately try out an AI, the Rouge, and maybe a B...
