VPI TNT HRX table - what tonearms?
Guys:Semi is right. I was the lucky one that got the HRX prototype listed on Audiogon yesterday. I woke up early, checked the ads, and voila'. I drove 400 miles roundtrip today and picked it up from a very nice audiophile near St. Louis. He had 20...
VPI TNT HRX table - what tonearms?
Thank you for the information. I am now using a ZYX R-1000 Airy2 S cartridge, CAT SL-3 preamp, JL-2 amp. I have a Bent MU MC stepup transformer on order to try with the CAT phono stage. I didn't realize the HRX was so daunting in regard to changin...
TNT 4 vs Cosmos III?
Thanks for your responses, guys. It's now moot, though, because I got crazy and bought a TNT HRX with the JMW arm. Going to sell the other stuff.Suttlaw

Is there a new CAT preamp? Is the Legend something new after the Ultimate?
CAT JL-3 mono amplifier

has anyone compared Cat JL 1 to Cat JL2
My JL-2 arrived last week and is fantastic, but I never heard the JL-1. I understand the JL-2 has a teflon circuit board which makes a sound difference over the JL-1. I don't understand why.

We think alike, Gregm. I like the concept of a lifetime guarantee, providing, of course, that the company life surpasses that of the turntable. The tonearm is problematic, although one could conceivably just buy a spare or two, given the cost rela...

Thanks for the responses to my post. To refine the discussion, perhaps I should comment on some of the suggestions. For example, I agree that the Linn will probably be around in one incarnation or another forever. The company has also been very st...
