Shopping for speakers at $1500-$2000 is a chore.
To Jdoris, I did consider the Fritz Carbon 7 but was not comfortable with their sales approach. I did not want a pair Carbon 7's planted in my living room unless I am enthusiastic to hear them, and not just to be convinced by their presence in the...
Shopping for speakers at $1500-$2000 is a chore.
To ZD542, Yes, I am going monsoonal over this speaker quest , but there is still for Tsumanic (two of which occurred when I lived in Hawaii, and fortunately did little damage to Honolulu....the other Islands were not so lucky.) I have yet to go Ea...
Shopping for speakers at $1500-$2000 is a chore.
Thanks to those who responded since my overlong first response To Mapman and Johnnyb53, Thanks for your recommendation of the Aeo 3; I have read something before about the Seven's bass overloading a medium size room, such as a 12X15 room. However,...
Shopping for speakers at $1500-$2000 is a chore.
Thanks to all who have responded so far. I can't answer everyone. But let me fill you in on some general facts: current system; room size: music generally listened to. Johnnyb53 seems to want every aspect addressed, including my heart rate. Nevert...
Wharfedale Jade 3 aluminium tweeter problem
To Wim1983 Have you looked at the Focal Aria 906 monitor. It has received very solid reviews, and is the same price as the Wharfdale Jade 3. that is, $1500 at retail. My only caveat is be aware that French loudspeakers starting from the old vintag...
Wharfedale Jade 3 aluminium tweeter problem
I lost track of this thread several days in my own frantic pursuit of a monitor speaker. However, let me ask (if others have not,) the following questions:1) Did you audition the Jade 3 speakers in an audio shop, or hear them at a friend'ss house?...
Bowers and Wilkerson B&W 802 D3: an impolite Brit?
Overall, I hope these responses will help out our comrade, Tom. If learning to fly a jet plane was compared to learning the steps to audio nirvana, many of us would have crashed and burned long ago. Unfortunately, no matter how many audio primers ...
Wharfdale Denton Anniver spks. Excellent or hype?
Thank you to all have responded so far and provided information. As far as equipment, I currently use a Rogue "Sphinx"(100RMS at 8ohms; 200 at 4 ohms) and an Ayre CX7e mp2 player and a Project Carbon DC TT including an Ortofon spike. Cables are Gr...
Bowers and Wilkerson B&W 802 D3: an impolite Brit?
OK, guys, so after my analysis above of the British invasion of bright speakers and the American market what is the solution?? Let's try to muster some answers. Is KEF the answer, they make a R-300 monitor in almost the same price range as the B&am...
Bowers and Wilkerson B&W 802 D3: an impolite Brit?
Unfortunately, Tom, I think Bowers and Wilkins or B&W (whatever the name) has followwed the path of KEF, Rogers, and possibly a few other traditional British speakers, and are/have been playing to the America consumer ears of bright, possibly ...
Recommed a medium sized monitors that can go loud
To Murgeshj: Thank you for heads up about the bass of the Scansonic MB-2.5. Scansonic like many other grands are not readily available in most audio shops. And with demise of mortar and brick showrooms it becomes almost impossible to hear them unl...
Recommed a medium sized monitors that can go loud
To Wolf-Garcia, a worthy correction, "dynamic" is a excellent substitute for loud or loudness
Recommed a medium sized monitors that can go loud
Thanks to all who have responded so far. However. I may have overstated or over emphasized the "loudness" factor. The reason is I play a lot of classic 60's rock, some jazz/rock fusion, some classical music, and big band. But not head banging crazy...
Wharfedale Jade 3 aluminium tweeter problem
I would not change your system to accommodate the speaker's inherent problems. If you go on a wild goose chase looking for different electronics, you could spend more money, and get few positive results. If you can, I would return the speakers to...
Recommend A More Dynamic Monitor Than Harbeth C7
To Pani, Interesting and unsettling comment about the Harbeths. Especially in the wake of the wild media praise for the HL5Super plus large monitor that has recently hit the market. Every reviews is crapping their pants to either review or own a p...
