Tracking force on Audio Technica 120Eb
Headshrinker and Czarivey,  I think you may have "possibly" solved my problem with the same cartridge; (however my AT  is 120E, not Eb which I assume is the newest version).  My table is a newly acquired vintage Thorens TD-145 which has been refur...
Wharfedale Denton 80th Anniversity speaker: Best stand height for them and brand??
First, thanks to all who have responded. To Yogiboy,  useful advice, but also a bit risky because unless you have duplicates of the same books used, there will be a chance that the speaker will be lopsided and unsteady, and fall over. I did this on...
Blue Circle's PLC -2 Thingee conditioner versus Transparent Audio PLC 6 conditioner???:
Lowrider57, Thanks again.  Unfortunately, in my enthusiasm I did not post my latest reply to you and it is gone.  Will do it again later or tomorrow .   Cheers to all
Blue Circle's PLC -2 Thingee conditioner versus Transparent Audio PLC 6 conditioner???:
Lowrider57:  Let me clarify what you said in the previous reply. I should plug my integrated amp into the wall, and not into FX-2.  I should plug all other low current devices into the FX-2   ( Keep in my I am just using the standard 2 AC wall  ou...
Blue Circle's PLC -2 Thingee conditioner versus Transparent Audio PLC 6 conditioner???:
LR57.  I bought the FX2 because it was less money.  I have a Rogue Sphinx  integrated amp which 100 RMS. I am not sure that would qualify as a low current component.  However, I am sure you are referring to CD players, tuners, DAC's  turntables, o...
Blue Circle's PLC -2 Thingee conditioner versus Transparent Audio PLC 6 conditioner???:
I did buy the Blue Circle PLC  Thingee (I wish they would change the model name because it is really) stupid.  Fortunately, I have no complaints.  I does seem to eliminate RFI noise and broadcast interference, but I don't know  how one would measu...
Magneplanar .7 speakers. Have you heard or own them??
To Johnnyb53,   Thank you for your extensive comments on both the GET model speakers, and Magneplanar 1.7 and .7.  Was there not an "R"  version of the   1.7??  Nevertheless, very helpful information.  The Golden Ear Tech model 7 is a very good sp...
Magneplanar .7 speakers. Have you heard or own them??
Correction of reply to Papermill: Reviewer Herb Reichert used the Rogue Sphinx integrated almost exclusively to drive the Magneplanar .7.  I was mistaken also about the amp; he generally cites the glories of the Line Magnetic LM518IA  a tube amp o...
Magneplanar .7 speakers. Have you heard or own them??
Papermill,  Thank you for the comments they are useful.  I have a Rogue Sphinx V.1 hybrid integrated amp which is 100RMS, and supposedly more into 4 ohms.  I have read in the  separate reviews in Stereophile and TAS that depending on the room size...
Looking for integrated better than my Rogue Sphinx
Unfortunately, I let this thread get passed me, so I want to thank  every member who responded since my last appearance on itI want to update those who were kind enough to respond that I still have the Rogue Sphinx v1. I found out before CES 2016,...
Magneplanar .7 speakers. Have you heard or own them??
To don- c55. Good suggestion,  two problems: 1) I don't think they will either fit or work in my room  2) There could be a WAF dilemma.  Nevertheless, I will check out the planar used section on AG and possibly e-bay  Thanks
Best cartridge for a Thorens TD-160 turntable (must mount from bottom up)
To gsshepardbuster.  Thank for the heads up about the Verso model. It may prove useful somewhere down the line
Best cartridge for a Thorens TD-160 turntable (must mount from bottom up)
Viridian,  Thank again for the information about AT120E,  and the identification letters on  AT440 cartridgeAlso, I thought my ears or mind was deceiving me when I first listened to the AT120E; though somewhat limited in its high frequencies, this...
Best cartridge for a Thorens TD-160 turntable (must mount from bottom up)
Thank you for your response. I almost bought AT440, (what does MLb stand for or mean)??). Actually,  I went cheap and bought the AT-120L ( actually not a bad cartridge for $96.00.  The Denon DL 301 MC would have to at least a 3.5mV  to 4mV output ...
