Has MAS done it again ? I have to agree with Sherod, the MAS Sig IC is truly a high end interconnect. A couple of years back I was co-owner of Richmond Audio & Video and was an MAS authorized dealer. At that time our reference system consisted of Duntech Black Knight...
Best digital cable below $500 I use all Goldmund Lineal digital cables in my system, which is a true 75 ohm cable. Have not heard anything sound as true in my system.
Add a subwoofer or not for two channel only? I have the Piega C-3 and run them with a Rel Strata 111 and tried several different settings on the Sub, I finally have gotten seemless coherent music. Very satisfied.
High-end Universal...Why? ? Neither DVD-A OR SACD will gain any sort of marketshare until, Best Buy, Circuit City, Sam Goody, Tower, FYE et al start promoting the software. Instead the aforesaid, hide the DVD-As and SACDs in out of the way corners and have a lousy selection,...
Speakers to hang on to for LIFE I owm Piega C-3 Ltd. speakers currenty and really like them. There has been many speakers before them, Maggies, Martin Logan, Duntech Black Knights, Watts, Sotas, Spicas. Vandersteen, Sonus Faber and many more, all gone. However, although the Pieg...
Does balanced interconnect sound beter than RCA? If you truely have a balanced system, XLRs usually sound better and if the ICs are longer than 1mm, balanced is the preferred way to go.
What's the most anolog sounding CDP Presently using a CEC Transport, Levinson Dac, and Purcell upsampler. Very smooth, but different from vinyl, however; auditioned in my system the MBL 1511D Dac and MBL 1521 transport and will be selling my Verdier Plantine Turntable, so I can buy ...
digital cable Sean hit the nail on the head. I've used singled ended digital links that stated 75 ohm, but the dac would not lock on correctly. I only use Goldmund Lineal digital cable, which is truly 75 ohm.
Shunyata Hydra I use both the older Hydra (orange outlets) and the Hydra 8 in my system. Side by side comparison gives a slight edge to the newer 8. The newer Hydra sounds less dark and a tad quieter. I really don't need two hydras in my system, however; the old...
Shunyata black mamba power cords I use three version one Black Mambas in my system. One on a Mark Levinson DAC, one on my DCS Purell and the other on the CEC Transport. Really nice.
Has anyone auditioned the new Definitive Mythos ? The saga with the DefTech Mythos. I own Piega C-3s with a Rel sub, which sounds incredible. My audiophile friend loved the set up, but would not spend the money for the Piegas. He called me several weeks ago to tell me, he bought a pair of DefTech...
Not happy with Krell SACD I am a Krell user since their inception, however; did not buy their SACD, because of the build quality ie. the transport draw. That said, at least two of my audiophile friends own the unit and love it. As noted in the above posts, the krell must b...
Piega P-10 / Solid State or tube amplification? I have C-3S & Rel sub combo and have driven them with Klimo tube 100 watt class A mono blocks and a Krell KSA-150. With the tube amp the midrange was awesome, but ultimately settled on using the Krell. With the Krell midrange was real good, bu...
Are Sub-woofers really for music? There has always been different opinions on subs vs. full range speakers. The argument for no sub, was that it was hard to integrate and never are they seemless. I never agreed with that argument, in that monitors almost always image better than f...
Jena Labs - Any experience? I recently changed speakers & cables. the speakers are Piega and the cables, MIT-MH-750 Magnum. They sounded horrible with the existing ICs, which were Cardas Golden Ref. and Purist Audio. I borrowed two ICs from audiophile friends, a Jena Lab... |
