Audio Physic speakers: where on the value scale?
I have the original Tempo and for the price used (around $1000), I haven't come across a better value speaker. Very clear, detailed sound that has worked well with both tube and SS amps.Michael
Anyone wish they had a rumble subsonic filter?
I have KAB's rumble filter ($170) and it completely solved my problem. At first I didn't understand why my woofers were going nuts, then once I finally learned what the problem was, I was able to get a separate rumble filter and life is good.Michael
SS vs Tube Preamps
I've had all combinations of SS/tube preamp/amp. I think in many ways my favorite was SS pre and tube amp. Try it different ways and choose whichever sounds best to your ears.Good luck,Michael

Rather than sit here and cry about the Raven's loss, I figured I'd do something productive and propose that we meet sometime in the next couple of months.Paul and MikeB have already proposed hosting a meeting.Does anyone have any suggestions of da...
Integrated or Separates on a budget
I'd go with a Classe CAP-151 or Plinius 8100 for the Paradigm's. But I feel that your Sony CD will be the weak point. The 100's require a fair amount of power to drive with authority, but I'd wager that the Music Hall Mambo would be able to drive ...

External hard drive for expanding iTunes library?
I advocate RAID 0 because (non-zero) RAID protects against one thing and one thing only: A single hard drive failure. (Lose 2 and you're hosed.) It allows you to work even when a drive fails. It does NOT protect against the more common reasons for...
External hard drive for expanding iTunes library?
Edesilva,I used to think that a NAS was equivalent to a fileserver until I actually got one (Thecus N4100). I have a couple friends with other manufacturer's products, and we compared notes. They're all slow (the best gets around 12 Mbps, nowhere ...
External hard drive for expanding iTunes library?
I've had dozens of hard drives over the years (several of them external). Only 1 of them has catastrophically failed. By contrast, I've lost 3 computer power supplies. Maybe I'm just lucky when it comes to drives. (Most of them have been from Seag...
External hard drive for expanding iTunes library?
I don't have any experience with the G-drive but it seems to be quite expensive. I respectfully disagree with the poster who said that an external hard drive needs a fan. Hard drives (and computer components in general) are much more rugged than w...

Off Topic: Any Photography Sites Like Audiogon?
Well, there is photogon, but it appears to get much less traffic than audiogon.I'm not an ebay fan, but ebay is always an option. I've found Amazon.com to be a better venue for me as a seller. Amazon makes it easy to list your camera.Or you could ...

CDP's that have Digital Inputs
The logical question here is why do you necessarily need a one-box solution that has digital inputs? For a comparable or lower price, you could have a separate DAC and use a good bang-for-the-buck CD or DVD player for the transport. Most DAC's hav...
