@curiousjim  Michael Carvin is certainly not a name that comes up, often!   I had a duo album he did with Jacki Mc Lean, at one point -- back when I listened to vinyl.  The main reason I switched to CDs was that a lot of Jazz had gone out of pr...

@macg19 That looks promising. Thanks.  Amazon sells similar units with lower power ratings.  I'm curious why you chose the 250 watt unit.

I live in a rural area. It's free of penguins, so far but perhaps the Polar Vortex will change this. Each home in this neighborhood of large parcels has its own transformer and the nearest sub-station is about a 15 minute walk. Line from pole to ...

@nonoise  Sneak some speed bumps on the road about 50' on either side of your home overnight and feign innocence when asked about it. Hah!  I really wish I could get away with that -- we get mighty sick of the jerks who use our private road as...

@dmk_calgary  I just discovered that Kenny Wheeler was Canadian -- I'd always thought he was a Brit !  One of my favorite ECM artists.  @ho249  PFE displays an interesting combination of influences.
