CD players that make for a great transport It's a little over your budget but after trying several CD transports with my BDA-1 DAC, I found the Simaudio Neo 260D sounded far better than my Oppo, Cambridge or Emotiva CD player transports. All were compared using SPDIF cables with the Brysto...
Integrated Match to Focal Spora No. 2 Erik, thanks for the info. It's interesting to say the least how part cost plays into the design of fairly expensive speakers. Although it's beyond my technical skills to attempt any modifications to my Sopra speaker crossover, it's good to know w...
Integrated Match to Focal Spora No. 2 Erik, I've searched extensively for info on Focal X-Over's with little success. Any info you've got would be appreciated before I discect my Sopras to see what's inside. I don't seem to have any difficulty with their impedance using my 700i amp. I...
Am I the only one to opt-out on the Sopra 2's? I've heard very expensive speakers totally fall apart in a bad room. Everything in audio seems to be co-dependent.
Simaudio Moon 600i or Bryston B135SST with Focal 836W Prestige Speakers. I use a 700i to drive Focal Sopra 2's. The sound is very well balanced with sweet highs, very dimensional and tight bass. Expensive but worth the investment. BTW, the 600 & 700i are built like a tank and will last a long, long time.
Integrated Match to Focal Spora No. 2 I would expect whatever Dealer you choose should offer a modest (10%) discount provided you've got a good relationship with them on past purchases. These speakers are HOT right now and selling quite well so don't expect huge discounts this soon. T...
Focal Sopra 2/3 vs Harbeth SHL5 Plus The Sopras don't have the same "British Monitor" sound of Harbeth. Listen to both before you decide which one suits your taste, music genre and electronics. If detail, sound-staging and the "musician in the room" factor are your thing, the Sopras ...
Enjoying My New Focal Sopra No2's Toneranger....I didn't try the Simaudio 600i, so I can't comment on how it would work with the Sopra2. I have a relatively small listening room, but a huge space (cu. ft.) to fill due to a cathedral ceiling and loft above my listening area. My 700...
Enjoying My New Focal Sopra No2's Toneranger....just wait a few months, they’ll sound so much better you’ll think they’re different speakers. The break-in will amaze you with the added detail, smoothness, and way more of the 3D holographic magic. Wonderful speakers !!!Enjoy !!!
Enjoying My New Focal Sopra No2's Where there is the will to own a pair, there is a way. Definitely worth the effort.
Good CDs Bad Recording ahendler....NONE of the early digital recordings sound good to me today on my system.
Enjoying My New Focal Sopra No2's Mine are approaching the 6 month point and have really opened up compared to their new sound. I'd estimate around 400 hrs. use. Every time I listen I'm literally floored with how good they are sounding. I'm using a little bit of toe-in, but less t...
Integrated Match to Focal Spora No. 2 I'm using a Simaudio Moon 700i with my Sopra 2's. I've heard these speakers with Naim, McIntosh and Hegel amps and I like the smooth musical sound of the 700i best. Naim was my least favorite.
Sopra No.2 Overpriced? Actually compared to other speakers in that price range, I think the Sopra 2's are underpriced. Before buying mine, I've been auditioning other similar priced speakers. I liked the Joseph Audio Perspective quite a bit until I heard the Sopra. L...
No mention of Audio Research in Absolute Sound Audio Research Tube equipment was Harry's favorite on and off for the past 30 years, once he left the magazine the trend changed to Solid State equipment that was unaffordable (Solution) and even more unaffordable Magico Speakers. Oh well !!!I've... |
