SUT for EAR 834p?
I ended up buying a Cinemag 1254 based SUT.  Should be here later this week, very excited!  Keeping the Dynavector for now.
SUT for EAR 834p?
OP here. Based on the wealth of information available here on audiogon and across the internet, I’ve been looking at good mm carts. Seriously considering a Nagaoka MP-500H and just using the mm input on the EAR 834P rather than adding a SUT in bet...
Best and Worst customer service?
I just had an experience with Upscale Audio that I'd like to share.   Suffice it to say that I purchased a fairly expensive component from Upscale about 15 months ago and recently realized that it was an earlier version of what was described in m...
Speakers known for great midrange.
Listening to a pair of Harbeth 30.2xd’s with my INT 25 right now. SVS Micro 3000 sub. I upgraded from 30.1’s earlier this year. SL1200GR table, EAR 834p Phono pre. Dynavector 20x2L cartridge. The Harbeth’s drop off pretty quickly below 54 hz, whi...
SUT for EAR 834p?
I mean all of this is really great information.  I'll be living on vinylengine for a bit :-).
SUT for EAR 834p?
This is all great information.  Thank you guys!    I've been focused on digital for so long that I forgot how much I like vinyl.  I'm having fun with the 834p,and the SL1210GR turntable.  I'm going to start the search for a SUT for the Dynavector...
SUT for EAR 834p?
Thanks for your comments Slaw. The switch is fine. And it plays to a reasonable volume in MC mode when I turn the volume up (not so when the switch is not depressed). I’ve read through lots of forum threads where it is discussed that the SUT in t...
Your last concert was to see who and when?
Paul McCartney last week (06/16) in New Jersey, MetLife stadium. Springsteen and Bon Jovi showed up to pay their respects to Paul as he turned 80 last Saturday. More than a concert, this was a spiritual event (for me at least).  I had never seen ...
Honest Experience on Effects of Subwoofer Please
"Subs are easy for me to set up (sorry mijostyn) as they’re a relatively simple thing. You turn ’em on and listen...mine have phase switches that need to be heeded and some may find that daunting but really...you simply listen. " I agree with wol...
Innuos Zen MK3 vs Aurender N100
I bought a Zen Mk3 last May, 2021. It replaced a Windows 10 laptop feeding my MHDT Orchid. I’m from the IT world and quite honestly didn’t expect much of an improvement in sound quality. It was more of a convenience factor for me and I knew they h...
Honest Experience on Effects of Subwoofer Please
I added an SVS Micro 3000 to my set of Harbeth 30.2XD’s a few months ago. Love it. Roll-off on the Harbeth’s is 54hz or so, so I have the sub kick in at that frequency.   It helps with soundstage and adds a little meat on the bottom.  Worthwhile c...
After years of separates, I'm going integrated. Anyone else do the same?
I have a Pass INT-25.  While I moved from separates preamps / amplifiers to integrated amps years ago, I still use an external DAC and phono preamp.  Speaking for myself, I see no reason to have a separate line preamp and power amp these days.
Upgrade to moving coil advice
Only 60 years?   I've been using a VPI Scout with a Dynavector 20x2-L Low Output MC for the past 10 years or so.  Very smooth, organic sounding cartridge.  Easy to listen to. Took me a long time to dial it in, but I think that's just me.  Listeni...
Let me explain something to you jive turkeys.
Watchoo talkin' bout Willis?  You callin' me a Jive Turkey?  I still use the word groovy every day.  Man, it's a habit that I can' grow out of.  Don't want to.
Scams abound
I'm very good at spotting scams, very tech saavy.  The volume of scammers seems to have increased over the past few months.  You MUST do your due diligence or there is a good chance you're gonna get screwed.  Ask as many questions as reasonable, g...
