Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2005 I forgot to mention, I live in Denver. If anyone is meeting up for dinner or drinks or anything before, during, or after the show, send me an email... I'm probably 15 minutes away from the show.
The most emotional amp out there? Audio Note Kegons... wow.My Lamms really are wonderful as far as connecting me to the music, but the Kegons just blow me away. Maybe someday....
Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2005 I'll be there as well, probably the first and third days. Would be nice to meet up with some of you.
Acoustic Zen vs. Nordost I've compared Valkyrja, Valhalla, AZ Absolute, and Stealth Indra in a system I'm very familiar with (not my own, but I've spent many, many hours listening to it) and 2 other systems I've listened to quite a bit. From what I've heard, the AZ Absolu...
Shunyata Vs. Nordost power cables ? I have compared Nordost Vishnu power cords with Shunyata Python Alphas in my system. On the Lamm M2.1s, the Vishnu was a faster sounding power cord. That's it. In every other aspect (every single one) the Shunyata was significantly better. I look ...
Top Ten Electronic/alternative Albums It's awesome to see so many people with tastes similar to mine here. I'll second most of these recommendations. Crystal Method - Vegas is still a favorite after all these years. I saw them live on that tour, and that show still stands out in my mi...
Zero 7 fans? Definitely a new favorite for me. The song "Destiny", from Simple Things is currently available as a free download on Amazon.com. Even if it's just an MP3, it'll give you a taste of the group's sound.
Solid state amp ultimate stop... Lamm... I wouldn't trade mine for any other SS amp that I'm aware of, regardless of price. If I'm building a system from scratch with an unlimited budget, Audio Note is in the mix... Kegon, Gaku-On, something. That's getting away from solid state ...
Aerial 10T latest version vs Revel Salon or Studio I've put together 2 systems in the last 5 years. Both of them used Studios. I looked around the first time, liked the Studios best, and bought them. I had to sell that system due to a move, but when another move allowed a new system, I went lookin...
Bang and Olufsen My previous system was a B&O BeoSound 9000 CD player and a pair of BeoLab 8000 speakers. I've noticed most audiophiles seem to be pretty biased against B&O stuff, and I'm not really sure why. I remember seeing the 9000 and the 8000 for the...
How good is a Monster Power HTS 2600? In my experience, the lower end Monster stuff is great for the price. However, there are many more expensive power conditioners that are great for the price as well, and therefore significantly better than the Monster ones. I'd stick to what they ...
The best speaker you ever heard? Larryi,I bet those Kagekis are amazing. I am as close to perfectly happy with my Lamms as I think is possible when it comes to an audio component. That said, if I buy another amp, it will be from Audio Note. I'm awestruck by what the Kegons can do...
Personal amp evolution Mine is pretty short, and at this point I can't see it getting any longer anytime soon...Sony Pro-Logic Receiver (don't remember the model)Music Reference RM-9Lamm M2.1The Lamms may very well be here for life. I can't find a flaw in them, and the ...
The best speaker you ever heard? Tbg: I heard them at Audio Federation in Boulder, CO. I've actually now spent many hours listening to them with 3 different amps (Edge Signature something, Audio Note UK Kegon, Lamm ML2.1). As much as I'm a Lamm fan (and owner), the Kegons are jus...
upgrade of lamm/wilson If your budget allows the VR-11s, I'd look seriously at Acapella Triolons. They're a little more money, but the sound is absolutely mind blowing. I've heard them with the ML2.1s, and they're truly spectacular. |
