"Best" multichannel universal player right now? Ahh, as I recall that was pre HD621. In one of those later columns you raved about the OPPO via HDMI, better or on-par with the Sony? Not clear. The Oppo certainly has a price advantage. Plus, it can play BRD's. hmmm
"Best" multichannel universal player right now? Kal, Just checked the last 4 issues.I found short mentions of the Sony in the July issue and again in the "Best of" in October. Did I miss something more in-depth?Thanks.
"Best" multichannel universal player right now? Thanks. Moved and misses a copy. I'll check it on line.
"Best" multichannel universal player right now? I bought one for a driving simulator and tried it for movies and music after selling the denon. It is not bad. How does the oppo compare to the Sony with hdmi you recenty auditioned?
"Best" multichannel universal player right now? Kal. I too have an hd621. I run most music through it via an aple tv. I have a ps-3 I use for disks having recently sold a modded 5910. Have you ever compared one of these with an oppo? Seems pretty inexpensive if there is any noticeable differenc...
Need help selecting Meridian Components... I have an HD621 that I like a lot. It has become sort of the hub of my multi-channel system. I have a G68, a ps-3, a cable box and a plasma TV connected to it. The next piece to add is an Apple TV. I'm very happy with the sound.

USB DACs with 24/192 via USB The Apogee Mini-dac can do that and sounds terrific.
Weiss Dac2/Minerva? You could go with a Weiss AFI1 between the computer and the Alpha Dac.
Weiss Dac2/Minerva? A better buy than the Minerva or the Alpha?
Weiss Dac2/Minerva? I'd love to hear results of a shoot-off between the Berkeley and the Weiss. The fire-wire is a nice way to go if you do not have AES/EBU output capability.
the dead on tour again. ---two questions: Going to see them in the Gorge next weekend with Allman and Doobie Bros. Should be fun.
Jackie Greene Saw him night before last. I've seen him several times but his skills are improving. He moves between genres so easily. Great show. Downloading it now from archive.org.
Which DAC would fit me best? I have been happy with the Apogee Mini-dac. It could replace your amp as it includes one. You can find them for $600-800 or so.
