Sme arm "Bridge Removal"
I think it really depends on your table. If you need the sound to be more airy then the bridge removal does help. But if that is not what you are looking for, then leave it on. It certainly does look better with the bridge. But there is a differen...
Headhsell leads on SME V
Problem solved. Hifihvn was right. Only the insulation was touching the terminal on one of the leads.
Headhsell leads on SME V
I checked the order and that is fine. I also tried different cartridges. And I changed the leads, not the clips. I'm thinking Hifihvn might be right about one of the wires being defective.
Headhsell leads on SME V
Only one of the speakers is responding. The other one does not work. I know its not an issue with any of the other equipment as I have a second tonearm and I tried that out.

Analog care -- what do we NEED
More than what people do, I'm looking for what is considered necessary when it comes to an analog set up. Particularly in terms of turntable set up and certain aspects of record care.
Record-playing Rituals?
I dry-brush my records before every play and clean the stylus as well. Oh, and let's not forget the clamp, a really important part of my analog set up. I also use the VPI 16.5 on records after three or four uses, depending on how much dust/dirt th...
SME V or Graham 2.2 on Michell Gyro SE
Thanks for the responses. Yes, I am going to use the Benz M2 on the new arm. I am planning on keeping the Techoarm and have a Ortofon Rondo Red on it at the moment. So the SME or Graham will be an additional arm on the table.
Best way to wire Speakers from mc501 amps
For amp stands, look into the component platforms by Steve Blinn designs. They're great and he will do custom sizes for you.
Michell - FULL or UNICOVER for a table?
I got a fabric cover made from a site called digital deck covers. I just gave them the measurements and they sent it within two weeks. I place that over the Unicover, which I am not too fond of for the reasons Tketcham mentioned as well as the fac...
New belt for Michell Gyro SE?
Par3n1 I have heard that the Koetsu does not sound that great on the Michell table and that the sound gets really laid back and somewhat soporific. I use a Benz-Micro M2 which sounds really great, although I don't think it was a significant step u...
Best Amp for McIntosh sys.- MC252, MC402, or MC501
I think the 501s are a step up from the 402 although the 402 is a wonderful amp. I think the primary consideration here is the price difference. I was going to get the 402 but found the 501s on demo for less than the 402 and could not be happier w...
Balanced cables for McIntosh
Cable Research Labs bronze bundle. Well priced and they work really well with Mac equipment.
Cables for McIntosh Equipment
I use the Cable Research Labs bronze bundle. It's inexpenive and works really well with Mcintosh gear. I tried XLO, Nordost, Cardas, LFD and Kimber on my system and settled on the CRL bundle. Cardas Golde Reference would have been my next choice.
