Anybody tried EMM DCC2 into preamp?
Clumsily phrased. What I meant was, has anyone compared the preamp in the DCC2 with their pre-existing preamp or specifically, the MP-1? I hope to compare it myself. (one day..............)Or, alternatively, how good is the preamp in the DCC2?
Review: Atma-Sphere MP-1 Tube preamp
Sophie is 13, Diabetic, a miniature, gets 2 shots of Insulin a day and is my 7th Dachshund. Her predecessor was a full-grown Dachsie, Spatzie, who ruled the house with an iron fist. Attacked any dog, irrespective of size and then sauntered back to ...
Review: Atma-Sphere MP-1 Tube preamp
Wellfed, sorry, I misread your cable comment. Yes, preamp to amp connection is something I think is important to do and will be doing that as soon as I can get 2.5 m of balanced cable - unusual length - but that is what it takes.I would love to re...
Review: Atma-Sphere MP-1 Tube preamp
Good point, Gary - the review was totally devoid of any technical details. This is my take on that: if the music sounds right, unadorned, life-like and stirs the emotions as a live session would, then, by definition, to me, the audio sytem has don...
Review: Atma-Sphere MP-1 Tube preamp
Thank you, Rushton. Gracious and supportive, as ever.......I guess the only thing that could make it better is a bit of vinyl:)
Jolida JD100A
I am sufficiently impressed with Underwood that I have bought 3 units from him - 502B, 100A and 402 Tuner. I had a problem with the 502B Volume control and Walter made sure it was fixed pronto. He called Jolida and told them to get it back to me A...
Are Wilson speakers
Yes, I am spending all my free time listening to music, but since you were all kind enough to take time to help me make a decison, the least I can do is leave feedback:) The Atma-Spheres and Kharma 3.2s make great music. I changed amps and speaker...
Atma-Sphere with Gilmore on HE 2004
The sound with Kharma 3.2s and Atma-Sphere MA 2.2s is breathtaking.........just another endorsement of this truly great, great amp.
Atma-sphere MP-1 vs Mark Levinson 32
Dominus Fluid-filled. But I dont want to "lose the magic":)Thanks, again.
Atma-sphere MP-1 vs Mark Levinson 32
Albert, Thank you for your input. I drifted the thread from MP-1 to Aesthetix in my quest to find the best preamp for my MA-2 - Kharma 3.2 setup with Dominus Rev C I/cs - in balanced mode. So, am I reading you correctly that you agreed with Valin'...
Atma-sphere MP-1 vs Mark Levinson 32
Rushton, I was interested in Jonathan Valin's review of the Callisto in TAS in which he said that he >> ......cannot recommend either unit (Io + Callisto) as highly as I am now recommending it if you do go with a a fully balanced setup. You w...
Atma-sphere MP-1 vs Mark Levinson 32
Rushton,Thanks for your reply. I printed your review, took it to bed, as it was 2 am, and half an hour later was sitting bolt-upright, staring at the blackness of night, my heart pounding and my mind filled with rue - how could I have thrown away ...
Atma-sphere MP-1 vs Mark Levinson 32
I will dispense with input gain controls and even a remote for the pure sonic virtues. I will look into The Aesthetix and pursue further the MP-1. Again, I appreciate this help.Rushton, what single-ended i/cs are you running between the Io and the...
Atma-sphere MP-1 vs Mark Levinson 32
Mike,I've just looked at your system......fantastic! (I have little Kharmas - 3.2)it seems the only thing you're short is a coupla Indra i/cs.......:)
Atma-sphere MP-1 vs Mark Levinson 32
Thank you both very much. The ML is so user-friendly and has such incredible features that it is hard to part with - but I wont know how much better the sound could be until I try a tubed, truly balnced preamp. Is the Lamm truly balanced? Why is t...
