Your Favorite Holiday Recordings Are?
Ottmar Liebert's "Poets and Angels" CD. Christmas favorites arranged for flamenco guitar. I know, I know. It all comes off quite well, though.
How long can Magnepan speaker last?
I purchased a pair of Magnepan MG-1 Improved speakers sixteen years ago. They have never needed a repair, still sound nice (at least to my ear) and cosmetically have retained a "like-new" look. Needless to say, I have been extremely pleased with t...
Dust Cover for Thorens TD-147.........
Try Thorens, if you haven't already. I purchased a TD-147 dustcover from them a few years ago as a backup to the original. Never needed to take it out of the box. It was included in the sale of the turntable to an Audiogon member last year.
Greatest American Rock and Role Bands of ALL Time
Creedence Clearwater Revival might be a legitimate contender for inclusion in a best American bands list.
No Sellers willing to do COD anymore???
It seems to me, from reading the posts above, that a familiar thread permeates the responses of those I would characterize primarily as sellers. Namely, a reluctance or reticence to engage in a method of payment/shipping that might cause a slight ...
Best Blues Rock recommendations?
Albert King, James Cotton, Jimmy Rodgers, Hubert Sumlin, Roy Buchanan and John Lee Hooker for some of the established bluesmen, Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets for a newer blues group.
apt holman problems
I have owned an Apt Holman preamp for the past 16 years. It has been used primarily as a back-up preamp for whatever I am using as a main preamp. About five or six years ago the preamp developed a similar problem to the one you are describing rega...
cornfedboy, signing off

2 channel Poll: Vote: Do you use Tubes or SS?
While I tend to favor the sound of tube gear, especially that certain quality of "lushness" or "bloom" that tubes can often produce in the midrange, I have solid state equipment in my system (Classe amp/preamp). For me, solid state is simply less ...
What time do you wear?
A Tag Heuer for everyday use. My grandfather's gold Hamilton retirement watch (circa late 40's) for dress.
No Sellers willing to do COD anymore???
I have decided not to pursue a purchase in the future unless the seller is willing to engage in a COD transaction for the reverse of the situation described by Dkuipers. I sent a certified bank check ($1,000) to the individual I believe he is desc...
Who R U?
Tireguy, at least that's one problem I've never had, but I won't rule it out!
Who R U?
Tireguy and Cornfedboy, thanks for the nice welcome. Lucas electrical systems are often refered to as the "Prince of Darkness". The motorcycle wiring harnesses were no better than their automotive counterparts. Guess you could call them quirky at ...
Who R U?
Hi. My name is Chuck. I'm 46 years old, married to my lovely wife Joyce (thought I'd add that just in case she comes across this post) and have a six year old son. We reside in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. An attorney by education, I have been empl...
