Relationship of amplifier sound to transformer quality?
As above.Paralleling power supplies is a problem waiting to happen.
What is everyone using for dedicated AC lines???
Note that the world-wide price of copper has about doubled in the past year.
Relationship of amplifier sound to transformer quality?
a] a quality output transformer is the heart of any good tube amplifier.b] do not try to combine the outputs of two separate transformers (AC power nor audio output). they will both be unhappy to say the least.c] do not try to combine the outputs...
Level matching for a/b testing?
For electronics up to the speaker terminals, any DMM will do. It doesn't need to be accurate. Just set A and B to the same value. For loudspeakers, a meter or phone again it doesn't need to be accurate. For speakers a mid-band pink noise is the best...

300 Watts and an 8 Ohm load is 6.1 Amps     300 Watts and an 8 Ohm load is 49 Volts RMS
Revisiting Step Down Transformers (220V to 110V)
Actually all US homes have 240V appliance circuits.
A/B testing of RCA interconnects using Y splitter- Thoughts?
What is it that: will degrade the sound totally ?
Separating cables, is there a mat to help along the way?
3 inches from the AC power cords should be enough. Twisting any unshielded cords and cables is always a good plan. But the interconnects that need shielding already have shielding.
Separating cables, is there a mat to help along the way?
I use a lot of Velcro® double-sided 'Reusable Ties' 8 inches long & 1/2 inch wide.VEK91140 or VEK90924 package of 100 or 50Put them on the cables and fashion other Velcro® clips or attachments.
Noise Goblin
How old is the hair dryer?  The old ones are  great source of the 'DC offset' problem. The would put a diode into the AC power line, that resulted in half-wave rather than sine wave power.
More questions on power strips and cables
Now that was an interesting link!As to power cord shields. AC power cords can sometimes act as interference antennas (either receiving or transmitting). Decades ago, many printers and desktop PC's had shielded cords. If the shield is connected at ...
A/B testing of RCA interconnects using Y splitter- Thoughts?
The 'Y' or Wye splinter of an output with one of the cables unconnected has two small problems.a] the cable capacitance of the unconnected one adds to the one being tested.b] the unconnected one might act as a hum, noise, interference antenna.
Interconnects under floor?
In large TV or movie studios, theaters and concert halls, for recordings and live events, 300 foot long XLR cables are common.  Look for cables that a rated for in-wall or plenum use.
How are phono cables different (related to hum issue)?
Actually the Blue Jeans Cable, LC-1 might not be the best choice for some phono cartridge to pre-amp input combinations. In some cases the total cable capacitance can affect the high frequency response of the combination. The LC-1 has less than 1/...
Splitting Balanced Cables?
Splitting an XLR output can work great or not! It depends on how well the two XLR inputs are designed.Try it with the subs volume turned to zero. Does the sound in the mains change?* * * * * * * * *XLR 'Y' splitter cable:https://www.bluejeanscable...
