Thinking about buying an Lp12, Lingo table. Go for the VPI prime scout. I went from a Linn to this and can say it’s a much simpler system and to my ears a superior table .The only thing you need to worry about is alignment of the cartridge. Also as others have said if you have wobbly floors...
Sonus Faber Venere 2.5 amplifier Recommendation Zmanastronomy Thanks for the advice. Right now the speakers are in a room and the house sits on a concrete slab and so do the speakers. Do you think I should decouple them from the floor?
Sonus Faber Venere 2.5 amplifier Recommendation Jafant A wide variety. In heavy rotation now is classic jazz. But listen to rock as well that is where things get more confused. Vocals on the other hand sound great.
Sonus Faber Venere 2.5 amplifier Recommendation Soix Unfortunately I can't pull them into the room as there is no space it is a very tight fit. But this might very well solve the problem.
Sonus Faber Venere 2.5 amplifier Recommendation Thank you for your responses. I borrowed a friend's roguee audio at 100 wpc tonight. It did tighten the bottom end up but sounded less transparent than the cj and it's el34. Would prefer tubes but is this a speaker that needs solid state for best ...

6922 Tubes! Purchased the chinook a couple Of Months Ago. I have the special edition which the only difference is that it comes with NOS Phillips ecc88 tubes. Let it break in and to my disappointment there was no definition in the mid bass. Everything else wa...
recommendations of phono preamps < $3000 range Bought the Manley chinook a couple of months ago. Highly recommended with the cheap stock tubes they voiced it with. Detailed and smooth . More versatile than the allnic imho
Tube Phono with Tube Integrated Amp? Using an older Conrad Johnson PV9a into an mv55 amp. Use the Manley Chinook as the front end. Cannot tell you how great all 18 tubes sound together . The 2 jfets in the Manley are a compliment. Otherwise you would have humming transformers.
Looking at a used Chinook or also have a lione on a nice Supper nova 2. Go with the Chinook and the stock tubes. You can't go wrong. Excellent sounding. Detailed and smooth
Has anyone considered rebuying a speaker you once owned?? I currently use a pair of JM Lab Daline 3.1. I sold my first pair about 20 years ago when I thought I was upgrading to the 6.1. The 6.1 created a bad resonance in my listening room that I could not seem to fix with acoustic treatment. I then playe...
If NOS pre or power tubes became unavailable altogether, what new tubes would you buy? I recently found out that New Sensor Corp. In Russia purchased some of the old European tube machines that some of the legendary tubes were built on. That being said I was using new production Mullards for a few years on my el34 based amps with a ... |
