Looking for really fine cables at really low price
One of the best price/performance cables is Cabledyne. Factory direct, fast shipping, great customer service. A class act, IMO.
Using solid copper THERMOSTAT wire as speaker wire
Actually THHN electrical wire is better than Bell Wire. :)
Using solid copper Door Bell wire as speaker wire.
If you saw what that Door Bell wire looked like under an electron microscope you would gag. :) lol.
Wife stepping on speaker wire
Electrify the cables and see what happens. :) LOL.
Porter Ports or Cabledyne Cryo Hubbell 5362
Mesch: IG5362 is not the same as the HBL5362 which is solid pure brass industrial grade. See: http://www.hubbell-wiring.com/press/pdfs/h5254.pdf
HDMI Audioquest vs Bluejean
FWIW: Monoprice has not failed me on HDMI 4K. YMMV.
Wife stepping on speaker wire
Had a friend with a big dog that ate cables for lunch. His solution was speaker cables in aluminum conduit clamped to baseboards. :) LOL.
Porter Ports or Cabledyne Cryo Hubbell 5362
Looks like Cabledyne will have the Hubbell HBL5362 back in stock. They Cryo and Cook these. http://www.cabledyne.com/hubbell-outlet.html
Grover EX+'s
Sounds like a "plug." No need to shout.
Integrated Amp Utilizing 2 Prong Power Cable
I have an EMO amp that uses the "2-prong" IEC or C7 socket. I use the Cabledyne copper power cord with the Furutech C7 plug option. Superior to the cheap PVC cord supplied.
Balanced interconnects advice
Audio Art and Cabledyne are the ones I use. Headphones are Oppo PM-1.
Cat 6 speaker wire. Gem in the rough.
Experimented with Cat 5, 20 years ago (worked for a telecom company). Used Plenum Teflon grade. Very bright and edgy sound. Preferred stranded copper PVC speaker cable. Much better choices out there today.
Tonearm wiring termination---DIN, or RCA jacks?
Good quality RCAs are superior to DINs. 'Swamp' also has a good solution.
Shunyata conditioner
I run direct to the AC outlet for my power amps. I use the Shunyata Hydra-6 for every thing else. Sounds fine to me.
