Anything beat dh labs t-14 for the money...... I compared Analysis Plus to DH labs, but my results differed from above. The AP sounded much like 12ga lamp cord, the T-14 in shotgun config sounded more like 500 Audioquest cables I also tried at the same time.

SA-14 Construction/TOC Issues Uh, the player should be metal, the top is aluminum, as-new, and the inside holds more copper then your local bank. Some folks have replaced the top with other materials for acoustic purposes, but this should not be the case with a new player. May...
Dylan SACD-good news. Dylan in surround sound? Uh, why? Most tracks are nothing but an acoustic guitar, a snare drum and Dylan's voice, maybe a harmonica here and there, and I don't want any of them floating behind my head. What a waste of effort.
Bel Canto vs. Musical Fidelity You have to try them for yourself in your own system, there's no way around it, me thinks, as a digital front end is too subjective and system dependent to rely on the ears of others. If you don't have a very good dedicated transport you may want ...
CD upgrade Try the Marantz SA-8260 SACD/CD player, or better yet, sell your current gear to help purchase a used Marantz SA-14. Try SACD in home, you'll get hooked, and the redbook playback of the Marantz is hard to fault as well. Personally, I would skip th...
xrcd 24 - someone did digital right Wait until some smart guy figures out how to combine XRCD mastering techniques with SACD technology, then, no doubt, we'll have something very special.
MSB Link III DAC - The Right Way to Go? 1) It's a subtle change, you'll not hear huge a/b differences but once you remove the dac you'll really miss it.2) Yes, but if you're looking to buy new, skip MSB and spend that $900 on the used market. The Nelson, I feel, is low value/dollar, and...
Thiel 2.3 / Musical Fidelity A3cr Power Amp ? Don't mix techno and the Musical Fidelity A3 or A3.2 amp, you'll not like what you hear. The MF amps are great for light classical and jazz, especially with monitors speakers, but I've never heard them do justice to big speakers and/or demanding m...

New Massive Attack LP: 100 th Window I tried to like this album, I have played it a dozen times through, but can't connect with it. Mezzanine absolutely is in its own league, one of my favorite albums, and though I don't want another Mezzanine I don't like the way MA has gone, but th...
Paradigm vs. Boston Acoutics Advice to a neo-audiophile: expand your search. There are hundreds of brands of speakers out there, don't leave these 2 companies as the only ones visible down the tunnel. Open the phonebook, find every audio dealer within an hour or 2 drive and s...
++++StereoPhile Class A components+++++ I think you guys are missing some rather huge points with the Stereopile or other professional reviewers worth: Many of them have credentials which let one appreciate that they do in fact know what a particular track should sound like, as they whe... |
