Harbeth M30 I've owned both speakers and the M30's were much better than the P3's. You'll need more power IMO. I had a Cary SLI-80 for awhile, and after that a Primaluna Dialogue Premium HP integrated. Both amps matched well with the M30's.
Clear Day Cables Double Shotgun vs. Analysis Plus Big Silver Oval I was thinking about the Analysis Plus cables but the longest they make is 12 feet. I thought I could make that work but I decided to try cutting a piece of lamp cord to test it first. I'm glad I checked. I need 15 foot cables so they would not...
Roger Waters-Amused to Death uberwaltzI'm with you on this. It's not great MUSIC. I get the holographic soundstage and recording bells and whistles, which are pretty cool, but the songs seem disjointed and never quite get going.
New Tweak --- Its Fantastic Well my curiosity got the best of me and I ordered up a tube of TC. It arrived yesterday, so last night I pasted all cable connections on my components, cartridge pins on my TT, spades on my speaker cables and the male ends of all power cords. I...

Thought My Harbeth M40.1's Were Forever Speakers - Guess Not Those Avantgarde speakers look pretty cool. I could never rock those in my listening space but they are beautiful.
Which Harbeth would work in my room? I have 40.2 Anniversary's now, and previously had 40.1's. Prior to that I had 30's. I was worried about the 40's being too big for my room (12' x 14') but I like the 40's better than the 30's, even in my relatively small space.I have the speaker...
Thought My Harbeth M40.1's Were Forever Speakers - Guess Not @joeinid Yes, as far as I can conclusively say right now. It's too difficult to say I'll be happy with them forever. Someday I might hear something I like better and switch them out. Maybe the next gen of 40's will outdo these. But it's safe to ...
NAD M10 Streaming Integrated It was brand new, factory sealed. Guess I got a great deal. I see they no longer have any of these.
Thought My Harbeth M40.1's Were Forever Speakers - Guess Not @karmapolice The Tontraeger stands are amazing. Expensive but they look and sound great. You can add Blue Tack under the speakers but I never have and they stay put for me. I do not live in earthquake country. I used to live in Japan and had S...
Harbeth Compact 7's on the way: Amp suggestions? Congrats on the Harbeths. They are great speakers.LFD amps are highly touted by folks using Harbeths. I haven't heard one yet but it's on my list of amps to audition. Their cheapest option is around $4K so not sure if that one fits your budget....
Phonostage/preamp recommendations. Parasound JC3 Jr.? @rsf507 I'm surprised the hear your impression of the JC3+ as being noisy.I've owned both the JC3 and the JC3+ and both of them have been dead quiet. Their sound is the best I've heard (so far). I've tried much more expensive units and have not ...
NAD M10 Streaming Integrated I ended up buying the M10 and just got it set up this week. It's mind blowingly good! Right now it's only hooked up to a pair of $300 PSB bookshelf speakers but it sounds amazing. I'm gonna try it with some other speakers as well for comparison. ...
Thought My Harbeth M40.1's Were Forever Speakers - Guess Not Hi guys,Sorry for the delay. It took me a while to get the speakers and set them up. Holiday madness delayed things a bit. Here are some initial observations of mine: Hooked up the new speakers yesterday. Unpacking these speakers is a chore, and ...
Kiseki Purpleheart I owned a Purple Heart for about two years and thought it was very nice.I switched it out for a Lyra Kleos and am much happier with the Lyra. Granted, the Kleos is a jump in price but not by leaps and bounds. |
