Feickert analogue protractor....Owners impressions
Sirspeedy, i have had many of my ARC gears modified by GNSC Steve Huntley in the last few years with huge success. I now have ARC Ref 2 MKI and Ref Phono with Caddock resistors and V-Cap and Black gate Caps throughout the signal path. The Ref Phon...
Feickert analogue protractor....Owners impressions
Sirspeedy, let us know how you do with the complete set up of your Series II using the Graham supplied set up "jig". Do you feel that you still need to use Wally's to ensure you have it "dead on". Please report back. Thanks
Sota Millennia Vacuum?
Good point Sirspeedy. There are lemons everywhere. Just look at GM, Ford and Chrysler. All 3 have had lemons and all 3 have had great products in the last 50 years. As far as Sota and its 2 owners are concerned, they are just GREAT to deal with. L...
LP shipping
Hi folks, i haven't had any warpage issues as much as getting the LP's with corner damages. Countless of them. The more you order at once (10-12), the heavier the box and if same, God forbid, is dropped the increased likelyhood of getting your pre...
SME V, Tri-Planar or Phantom B-44
Hey Sirspeedy, i should receive my Phantom in a couple of weeks after a 6 months wait. I guess with Bob's tribulations and problems with some of his part suppliers, it delayed the whole manufacturing/assembling process. Will be mounting it on my C...
New Stand config brings about new TT problems
AudioFeil. I have been thinking about that for my Sota Cosmos TT. It currently sits atop a Sistrum platform (3 pillars design) but my floor is not rock solid like concrete floors would be. It's your typical plywood floor that "flexes" when you wal...
correct zerostat technique
The most common static problem i have is when i remove the record from the platter to play the other side. There is so much static that i have to "pry it" off the platter and you can hear major static crackling and popping. I do the same as Dgad, ...
Feickert analogue protractor....Owners impressions
Stiltskin, let us know your impressions on the Mint LP after using it. Also, when this is all done, let us know your impressions for all 3 (Phantom own jig, Feickert, MintLp) and the one you would highly recommend. Perhaps the Graham supplied jig ...
How do you clean tube pins?
On tubes with gold pins i use Tarn X with great success. On other tubes i use Caig DeOxit and wipe it off with 99% rubbing alcohol. I do not use any type of contact enhencement products on tube pins. Hope this helps.
Feickert analogue protractor....Owners impressions
Hi all, this had been one of the better post i have seen in a long time. Very unbias. No "war". No "ditch your SME it's crap and buy a Phantom or ditch the Phantom and buy a Triplanar".Congratulations to all and most particularly Thom Mackris at G...
Feickert analogue protractor....Owners impressions
Thom, my SME V situation with the Feickert is a moot point as i will be receiving a Phantom shortly i hope (after a 6 months wait or so). I will be selling my Feickert and will likely order a MintLp. For discussion purposes here, if you had to mou...
Feickert analogue protractor....Owners impressions
Unless i've missed it here on this thread, where/how do i get the MINT LP tractor. Who sells it?I find the Feickert too "finicky". I adjust my SME V with it and check again with the cardboard protractor that came with the SME and there is no diffe...
Power Conditioner and Surge Protector
Well, i have been a PS Audio Premier owner for just over a year now and it has been a ride from hell. All 4 units that i have had in my system have failed. Fans going krazy, unit overheating.Unit shutting down / rebooting every 2-3 minutesOutput v...
Sota & Graham Phantom owners
Thanks Sirspeedy. So if i understand correctly, the DIN connector on the Phantom pillar point straight down and not toward the back on the table, hence the need for a right angle DIN on the cable. The SME V, if you are familiar with this arm, the ...
