Are REL the most Musical Subs?
I think that if the post had read "what is your preferred subwoofer for music?" a good number of people would have said REL.  I've watched a number of review videos and many people feel that REL is the best choice for them.  Lots of very positive ...
3.0.2 Innuos sense app update
Thanks for the heads up. 👍
Are REL the most Musical Subs?
@mahler123 Hopefully, you're going somewhere fun. 🙂 I don't know what I'd pick for a subwoofer based on the varied responses in this post.  Sounds like you have time to do some more research.  Check out the various suggestions.
What do I need?
What is your amp and preamp?  Does your preamp have a home theater pass-through?  A pass-through will take the front two channels from a surround processor and deliver it to your two channel amp without affecting the signal (the volume is controll...
Are REL the most Musical Subs?
I have two REL S/510 and a larger 12 inch ported SVS.  For movies, the SVS will shake the house, but I would never consider it for music.   Are the REL the best bang for the buck?  (I paid $4500 new for the pair).  Possibly not, but they perform ...
For Gustard R26...which bang for the buck: DDC or LHY OCK clock?
@kereru Thanks again for your responses. You've been extremely helpful.
For Gustard R26...which bang for the buck: DDC or LHY OCK clock?
@kereru Well, FedEx came through. Hooking up the OCK-2 was straight forward. I'm connected from the sine output to the U18 and R26. I'm still cooking my $7.50 cables.  Lol.  I ordered better cables, but they didn't show up. I'm not good at descri...
LAIV Harmony
I would agree with that.  The May KTE sounds like an end game dac for someone like me.  Something to think about for a possible upgrade.
LAIV Harmony
It doesn't surprise me that a $5600 dac sounds better than a $2700 dac and a $1650 dac.
Subwoofers
The really nice thing about having high level and the LFE input is that I can set the high level output low for music and crank up the LFE gain for movies.  If you are using the subs for home theatre, I think I'd go with the REL S812 if you like l...
Subwoofers
@greywolf I haven't heard the Revel, but I notice that it only has line level inputs.  Maybe that works for you, but I like connecting the REL with speaker level for two channel.  It also has separate line level inputs for a LFE channel if your sy...
A tip for those using First Sound Preamps
Very nice.  I wasn't familiar with that preamp, so I did some googling.  That's an impressive piece of gear.  I have ten NOS PCC88 tubes sitting in boxes.  I bought them for a conrad-johnson preamp that I had for a month. It developed an issue an...
Subwoofers
My room is approximately 20 ft x 35 ft.  I'm using two REL S/510 in a stereo pair.  Using speaker level connections for two channel.  I have the gain and crossover set really low. They blend well with my full range speakers.  If I turn them up ve...
For Gustard R26...which bang for the buck: DDC or LHY OCK clock?
@kereru Ok. I'll skip the shorting caps unless I can confirm that it's a good idea.  Thanks for the reply.
For Gustard R26...which bang for the buck: DDC or LHY OCK clock?
@kereru I actually bought both.  They were cheap. I just didn't know if shorting the unused output was a good idea.  The silicone cap would simply keep dust out.    https://www.amazon.com/Bingfu-Connector-Protecting-Protective-Surveillance/dp/B0...
