SPEAKERS, SPEAKERS AND MORE SPEAKERS.. BUT NEED BASS.?
My personal experience with the SVS subs was not good at all. I had multiple failures (all covered under warranty at least), but they just didn’t hold up so I changed brands. But before replacing the subs, I played with a pair of Bryston Middle T’...
I can not live without "Room Correction"
I have found that room correction is really based on the quality of the speakers used.  Some 'lesser' speakers see improvement as I have found when I had the new SVS Ultra Towers for a few months and used the Anthem ARC software; it really helped ...
Road trip to demo $10,000 speakers
If you can find a pair of the Bryston Model T’s to audition, do it before you buy anything. Most people who have listened to them say that nothing under $25K will touch their performance.I personally had a pair of Bryston Middle T’s for three mont...
Highest detail cartridges
I would like to chime in on the discussion of highest detailed cartridges, phono stages, cables, etc.I just completed a replacement of my service entrance of the house which had a rather typical 200 amp breaker box with around 60 breakers all GE e...
Finally took the Bryston 4B Cubed plunge
I have listened to a variety of speakers.  Hours upon hours before I purchased a pair of SVS Ultra Towers due to the price point.  But when I had the SVS Ultra's set up next to a pair of Bryston Middle T's, I was longing for the Bryston's, there w...
Finally took the Bryston 4B Cubed plunge
I would love to try a Bryston cubed amp; the 14B3 or a pair of 28B3's, but I just don't have the spare funds to do so at the moment. As with the creator of this thread, I had been using a Parasound, but it was the A51, great amp, sounds wonderful. ...
New D'Agostino Monoblocks...$250,000
If one has a high quality amp or amps with good design and not costing more than a small Honda (or motorcycle) and taking the extra step to de-oxidize the buss on the service panel and the breakers, I'll bet it will sound just as good.  Limiting v...
New D'Agostino Monoblocks...$250,000
When the bubble finally implodes, and it will as it really needs to, all of this non-sense will vaporize and there will be no buyers at any price to take the used $250K amps off anyone’s hands.Really??? did anyone look at the internal photos of th...
Good Speaker within a budget of USD10,000
I have had Bryston Middle T’s, then went up to the Model T’s.... cannot be beat! But, you do need a lot of power; they love power. There are three variations of the Model T’s available; passive, external crossovers and active to be driven by three...
Pani ... New ART-9 up and running ...
Here is my take on it: The SME Series IV is regarded as one of the best tone arms ever made; so it would make sense to me that it would play well with most cartridges out in the market place or people would not compliment how it performs. I guess ...
Pani ... New ART-9 up and running ...
Thanks Wrxified for the information... the nylon hardware certainly looks interesting.   However I am not sure I'd need it if I am reading the chart correctly.  On the left side where it reads 18 for the spec you supplied on the ART9, it lands at ...
Pani ... New ART-9 up and running ...
For my set up to hit the sweet spot, what weight cartridge would accomplish this?
Pani ... New ART-9 up and running ...
Thanks for the input; I actually found the mass of the arm at 10 to 11 grams too. It’s too bad the ART9 doesn’t have tapped threaded mounting holes so that short/lighter screws could be used. I suppose aluminum mounting screws would be a good opti...
Pani ... New ART-9 up and running ...
OK, OK.... I have been following this thread for half the day (read from the start).  I am sold.  I was considering the Delos and the Clear Audio Concept MC Black also the Ortofon Quintet Black MC; but it looks like the ART9 will be it.I have some...
I'd like to hear recommendations for Turntables under $5,000
I found a VPI Ares3 with the super platter last year and without a tone arm; the previous owner had a Dynavector tone arm which he didn’t wish to part with. The TT came with the arm board drilled for the Dynavector. I picked up a SME Series IV, wh...
