How good is phono stage in Musical Fidelity A300?
Compared to the CI-Audio, the top end is more detailed and not as bright with the built in phono-section and the bass is tighter and more controlled. Don't misread me, the CI-Audio is a great sounding phono-stage and if I needed an external phono ...
How good is phono stage in Musical Fidelity A300?
Well - here's the thing. What sounds good to me may sound like total crap to the next person. Obviously that's the case here because I find the A300 to be THE best value in a used integrated out there. The phono section is fantastic too - in my op...
Any opinions on the Audio-Technica OC9ML II?
How quiet it runs in the groove is quite important to me - I've got a lot of used records in less than perfect shape. Inner groove distortion is a big no-no in my camp too. The Exact I'm running now displays no inner-groove distortion but isn't th...
Any opinions on the Audio-Technica OC9ML II?
Thanks for the info - looks like I'm going to have to get one! Any idea as to what size spacer I would need on a Rega (P5) table?

Classic Recs 180g or 200g QuietX SVP Rollin Bridge
Almost all of the 200g recent Classis issues I've purchased are full of pops and noise. Don't know what's going on with them - but I'm not buying any more. I'd hold on to the 180g if I were you.

Most powerful fluid for record cleaning machine ?
I'm using the AIVS system with no distilled or ultra-pure water rinse. After reading some posts on the Vinyl Asylum from individuals stating that they were getting "foaming" when doing a rinse after using the cleaner solution I got concerned. You ...

Another vote for AIVS - it's a no brainer...
MMF5 or Rega 3 used?
I agree with the Rega recommendation. However, parts for the MMF tables are readily available, and cheap, from The Needle Doctor (www.needledoctor.com) - I'm not sure where this "parts are impossible to find for the MMF tables" started. That being...
Sorry - a couple more newbie analog questions
A great deal of stress that the motor undergoes is in getting the platter up and spinning from a dead stop. With a belt-drive table 99% of that stress can be alleviated by simply give the platter a light spin with your finger prior to switching th...
Best Rock Cartridge for Rega $600
The low output ACE is at the top of my list right now based on a few responses I've gotten via e-mail. Are you having any trouble with tracking inner grooves, or distortion during really dynamic passages - like a sustained high note, etc.? That's ...
rega new tables p5 p7
I know this is an older thread but thought I might add that my P5 runs dead-on 33.33rpm. I used to own a P3 which ran around 1-2% fast but the P5 is perfect and that was true prior to adding the optional TT-PSU.
Which table to choose - Rega P3 or Music Hall MM7
I'd go with the Rega - I've owned a MMF-5 and a couple Rega tables. My current table is a Rega P-5 and I'll be keeping it for a while - really enjoy it.I'm pretty sure NeedleDoctor used to sell a wide variety parts for the Music Hall tables. Motor...
Left channel much louder than right?
If the azimuth of the cartridge is off this can happen too. Basically what I mean is that the cartridge is not sitting perfectly perpendicular to the LP, it's tilted to one side or the other. I'm not familiar at with the JMW9 arm - but I'm sure th...
