Speaker Recommendation up to 70k
Ive heard zellaton. It is equisite but I wouldn't say it's better than magico. I own an m2 and had an s5mk2 before that. all depends on preference and source gear. don't get me wrong, i think the zellaton is real special but, to my ears+with my ge...
You pay for it and you get it...
awesome, thanks for clarifying. you're getting the imaging etc but not the scale even though you're using the appropriate size speaker for your room - this explains perfectly what you're talking about earlier and i 100% agree: big speakers do scal...
You pay for it and you get it...
@daveyf you mention: "I am pretty sure that the little Sabrina X's cannot portray scale if they are placed into exactly the same room and with the same gear as the Alexx V's." do you think it's possible to get that scale if the sabrina x's are opt...

spend on the streamer or on the DAC ?
server 100%. i recently got a taiko extreme and wrote specifically about this server vs. dac stuff in my thread on whatsbest. this is the thread itself: https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/living-at-the-extreme-i-bought-a-taiko-extreme-and-then...
Rockna Wavelight thoughts?
@in_shore , thank you! i've been updating it fairly regularly so if you havent been to the thread in the while i've made further comparisons. this morning, i'm sitting here with the extreme playing and i'm taking care of my morning emails etc and ...
Rockna Wavelight thoughts?

Does the 'Buck' Start with the DAC?

Dac upgrade
+1 for rockna wavedream signature. you can see my post history here and on whatsbest to read my impressions of it. it's not cheap by any means but i also think it has the quality and tone to partner really nicely with the rest of your system.
Rockna Wavelight thoughts?
@in_shore great to hear about your experience with the NET. it can certainly be a bit jarring at first because like ... it's a server, how could it possibly matter but the proof is in the pudding and you don't even have to listen to for it. the di...
Does the 'Buck' Start with the DAC?
@ag3__  the dac you have is great (i have the same one!). if you are in the market for a server, deff consider the wavedream net. it very well could be an endgame for your rig. it has been serving me well and if not for the taiko extreme on the wa...
If I just use a DAC, do I need a Pre-amp?
to my ears, preamps impact the system's tone, speed, and resolution. to me and in my system, they have had more dramatic impact than amps (that's not to say that amps and other changes haven't). i picked up a nice soulution pre and am never lookin...
Roon: everything you need to know
hey fellow roon-users. i wanted to bring up something really interesting from the whatsbest taiko extreme thread. theres a few of us there sharing experiences with tweaking roon's clock priority and buffer size settings. maybe you hear a differenc...
Does the 'Buck' Start with the DAC?
i am actually connecting the rockna stack using a wireworld gold aes cable. i've always been a fan of aes and yeah ive heard all the arguments for using one vs. another but in my system i'm getting fantastic/best-i've-ever-heard sound. will i keep...
Does the 'Buck' Start with the DAC?
hey guys, i'm reposting a response i wrote on a thread about rockna wavelights. @david_ten suggested it might be valuable here. also, i want to add that diminishing returns is a reality, but "law of diminishing returns" is extremely misunderstood....
