Kharma Sub Set Up- Review
I am feeling a bit guilty, and hope I didn't seem too "pushy" in my remarks. You have great stuff, and I hope you get endless enjoyment from it!!My gripe is that the pricing of MUCH (specifically Kharma) is WAY,WAY out of line.Take a look at the Khar...

Oh,yeah!!You put the fluid on the tip of the bearing, you have just taken off, that is now facing up.This is for fine tuning.Originally the fluid is squeezed into the bearing well at the pivot.Don't overfill this.

I hope I'm about done adding to this thread. This is a popular arm,so I guess it isn't a wasted effort. Now you see why I was so pissed off with the mainstream audio press for not EVER mentioning any of this stuff.Arthur Salvatore sure has my devote...
Kharma Sub Set Up- Review
I appreciate the comments and I believe the results obtained,in truly, good faith. What I do question, and this is just me,as I too would probably do exactly as you did and stay within the same component family,is the fact that Kharma,GTT or whomever...
the 4 ohm rating
Even if your amp can drive a more demanding load it will still work a bit harder doing so,as compared to an easier one.Think 4 cylinder vs 6 cylinder engines. The fact is that the internal circuitry will still run cooler on an easier load, and commo...

Sorry! I forgot to mention a key point, that will let you know you are really close to optimum, in set up.That is the way "Acoustic Bass" (double bass instruments)should sound when you have gotten into the "ZONE".I was content with a close approxim...
Kharma Sub Set Up- Review
So,I guess that your mixed results with the REL subs goes out the window now that you have been shown the light,by a more experienced listener. Were the RELs set up with the same cat-like listening reflexes,or is the Kharma sub just that good.I kno...

You guys really are getting the hang of it.Obviously quite a few already know a great deal. As for me,and my habits,I dial in a wide variety of program material, over quite a few listening sessions. When I am satisfied I go back to the most troublin...

There was a great speaker, discontinued a few years ago.It had all the characteristics found in all the "HOT TO TROT" stuff being sold today, even by the same mfgr!It was the Avalon Ascent Series 2.Not too big.Gorgeous to behold and listen to.The lo...

I hope you are kidding!I use a series of records with complex, and difficult to track material.I also use some discs that have a variety of different instruments, showing off their timbres and harmonics. The most difficult thing to get right is CORRE...
What's wrong with classical music on vinyl?
Right on the money! Not only does classical music place more demands on the system,it is also FAR more difficult for a cartridge to track the complex and massive forces, with the instrumental variety involved. This is where proper arm/cartridge set u...

Just my own opinion here, obviously.I have both, an analog and digital set-up.Decent enough stuff.Levinson 390s,and SOTA COSMOS series III/Graham 2.2/Transfiguration Temper-v.I DO have an extensive collectio of both Analog(Early Deccas,EMI,RCA's,Ly...

Metralla, sorry for being so obnoxious,in my response.I am a "one finger at a time typist",though getting better.I will try to learn a bit more as you seem sincere.Originally,I thought you were putting me on.The thing is that I got so excited about...
ZYX Airy2-X-SB on Graham 2.2
There is no need to send me any info. on this,as,since I stated in the previous threads,MY FRIEND,not me,is interested.I DID make this cartridge family a recommendation to him.The rest is up to him.As for my E-mail,this is a real mystery to me,as ...

For your edification,I simply wanted to be helpful, regarding the topic.I wrote this info out last night, and my daughter accidentally erased it.So,I spent a good time, in the A.M. re-writing it,as both my wife and daughter were, literally, dragging ...
