Best Pre with a built-n phono section?
I much enjoy the Jadis JP-80MC, with mods and Tele's throughout. Excellent delineation, very extended and yet almost as mid-range-magical as before the mods. I find it does require step-up with cart. below 0.4 output.
Question for Pure Power 1050 users
I have experimented with a few different power cords with similar effect as experienced without the PurePower. That being, a diversity to the presentation, from cord to cord. I have also run an after market cord into the PurePower, with less notic...
Speakers that excel at depth/layering/space
In response to Mechans observations, the Vandersteen 7's were driven by an all solid state system. Huge Audio Research tube mono-blocks were on the floor, but the shop owner wished to display the speaker's ability with a moderate priced amp.
Speakers that excel at depth/layering/space
I have heard many systems with great depth and imaging; Avalon, Kharma, Wilson, Apogees, Magnepan, Genesis, Thiel, Conicident and Aerial serving as transducer....but a recent demonstration of the Vandersteen 7 entertained a whole new realness to d...
Question regarding cable balance
Hi Chuck,Thanks for the recommendation. My concern is on the performance of a wire within specific combination of components. I believe most cables offer up great neutrality or color, depending on what one seeks, but yet have I seen a universal pr...
The Hub: AudiogoN's RMAF coverage is Online
Thank you very much. For one not having the opportunity to experience a show of this caliber, I greatly appreciate your effort in creating a virtual walk-through.
Vandersteen Model 7: has anyone heard?
On Wed. I stopped into Ultrafidelis for a quick listening session. The speakers were scheduled to ship out later that afternoon. I met Jon for the first time, who after a short introduction began spinning lps. A quick note; I believe all supportin...

Love his work.
More hifi in TV ads
Chadnliz...you may wish to stretch your horizons. Try a newspaper such as the Wall Street Journal; avoiding the op/ed section, of course. You'll soon realize how little unbiased news you've been receiving.
Purepower 2000 vs PS audio PPP
I recommend contacting Purpower listing all components you wish to plug into it. I purchased a 2000 expecting it to handle a pair of Joule amps and a Jadis tube pre. The unit barely handled one amp. So now, per the mfg., a suggestion to purchase a...
Thought on OTL tube amps
I have also owned and auditioned a variety of amps. Solid state; Classe, Krell, Gamut, Plinius, Threshold... Hy-bred; Lamm... Tube; Jadis, Lectron, Conrad Johnson, Convergent Audio... OTL; Atma-Sphere, Joule. I have found, as with nearly every pie...
Next Wilco Album
I very much like "Kicking Television: Live in Chicago".
Veracity of albums for sale being "sealed"?
Don't know about the authenticity of the seal, but I purchase lps to listen to, not look at.

Is my room too small
A buddy has Avalon Eidelons in a 10' x 9' room. The equipment sits between and back of speakers. He has exacted an incredibly musical sound in this most unconventional space...like having superb headphones.
