Endler stepped attenuator w/Cary active preamp Hmmmmmmm, could it be just a bad tube in the TP?Any downside to the attenuator even if just a band-aid?
deHavilland Electric Amp at RMAF Wilson Benesch speakers, a DeHavilland pre (don't remember the model name).
deHavilland Electric Amp at RMAF I heard it at RMAF yesterday. Fantastic amp. Highlight of the show for me and my friend. Deepest soundstage I think I have ever heard. Drummer sounded several feet behind vocal for example. Smooth natural very listenable sound, but with oodles of ...
Pre for Aerial 9s, Classe CAM 350 and Modwr. TP Thanks Tvad.
Pre for Aerial 9s, Classe CAM 350 and Modwr. TP Actually, CLasse has an input impedance of 75k ohms.
Pre for Aerial 9s, Classe CAM 350 and Modwr. TP Hey, I was hoping for a little more input. Anyone?BTW, I should know this but don't have a good handle on it. How can I ensure a good impedance match? The input impedance is 75ohm (balanced) and the output impedance on the CLasse is .017 ohm. Is 1...
Aerial Model 9 vs B&W Nautilus 802 Give the 9s a listen. It has been years since I have heard 802s or 10Ts, so I can't give you a very speciffic comparison. However, I know that I greatly prefer the 9s (After all, I bought them after auditioning 802s, 10Ts, Wilson, etc.). I cannot ...
Aerial 9s--is there a lot more bass than 10Ts? I have 9's in a 15 by 22 room. No problem with boomy bass. I have rugs hanging on the wall behind each speaker and that may help dampen the bass in a good way.I am thrilled with these speakers. For me, they do everything well. Most importantly, as...
ModWright Transporter I have listened to both extensively. I went with the MW and am very glad I did. The TP is teriffic, but the MW is to my ears more listenable. Warmer and much more musical. Sounds live, sometimes scarily so (as in I am startled by a sound that seem...
how does the transporter rate I found the stock TP a little sterile myself. However, the Modwright TP sounds great to me; very musical w/out losing detail. Highly recommended.
Anyone optimized their ModWright Transporter yet? Mr. Bill. Just found your post (5 weeks later). Sorry.I am using the XLRs, which do not permit use of the onboard attenuators. Instead, I am using Endler's. Because i just got them, I can't give too much of a review, but so far so good.
Anyone optimized their ModWright Transporter yet? Hey. I have had my MW TP for about a month now.I too liked, but did not love, the unmodded TP. I agree that it is a tad analytical sounding. Pretty good still, but not great. The MW TP, however, is probably the best source I have heard. I cannot c...
Transporter straight to amp w/no pre How do you address line level balance issues? I just read about that issue on the Slim Devices site and I am a little intimidated.
Anyone compare Classe CA-M400 vs older CAM 350s ? I have owned the 350s for exactly one day. They drive my 10 day old Aerial Model 9s. FWIW, I am quite pleased. Relative to the Classe CAP 150 (a really teriffic integrated) that I have had for 10 years (and which powered the 9s for 9 days), the ba...
Speaker Preferences? Joey. Don't get me wrong, I love MLs. If I had a bigger room, I would probably still have them.I am pretty happy with the Aerials though. Definitely worth a listen. |
