What are your favorite monitors? Dynaudio 52seNot very big, the highs are very detailed but not harsh. Imaging is first rate. They also put out a good measure of quality bass for a small speaker. So far the best "bookshelf" I have ever listened to for any extended length of time.Matt
Speakers for quality listening & occasional party If you are going to party you need bass. Look for a used pair of Vandersteen 2ci's or possibly 2ce. Very good to listen to and have plenty of slam for that party.shoe

Meadowlar Osprey...How does it sound??? I purchased a pair of Ospreys from another audiogon member who had them for a couple of months. I was not overly impressed at first and after spending so much money I thought perhaps that I had made a mistake. After a few weeks we started notici...

Jump Factor Patrick O'hearn, a song called Malevolent Landscape. I am very familiar with the song yet still to this day it makes my heart skip a beat. The song lulls me with low bass tones, rythmic ambient bliss and then what sounds like an intense electronic...
Best Rock, Blues, Jazz speaker under $1,500. Audition some Vandersteen 2ce's if you get a chance, plenty of room filling bass I believe down to 28hZ before slow roll off. Well within your budget. I suggest buying used here on Audiogon and save yourself a few hundred dollars. Lot of speaker f...
Meadowlark audio kestrel2 - anybody heard them? Fantastic detail, wide soundstage, don't expect over powering deep bass but you will be able to distinguish each note ( no sloppy bass ). Before break in they are edgy, lack warmpth and bass but after many hours (as much as 300), they smooth out a...
