Audio Horizon Preamp
By the way, the best power cord I've found for my TP 2.0 is an Electraglide Epiphany X, plugged directly into a Porter Port outlet in the wall. No filters or conditioners have helped. The TP 2.0 has a built-in AC filter that works excellently on i...
Aside form the Human voice...
Every voice and instrument has it's own unique expression. I have a fondness for a well recorded vibraphone,i.e Lionel Hampton style.
Audio Horizon Preamp
It's not that I have faith in the reviewers. I'm simply assuming that they would give the TP 2.0 a fair review and that they have somewhat decent ears for that review. I don't subscribe to any audio rags anymore. The only reviewer whose ears I've ...
Audio Horizon Preamp
I'm one of those who has given the Audio Horizons TP-2.0 preamp high praises. My opinion is if the audio rags, who get paid advertisements from other preamp makers, decided to review the TP 2.0 preamp(who doesn't pay for advertising), they would u...
Passive Pre - No Regrets?
I am surprised that as much as you like your Placette RVC that you are selling it without knowing for sure that you'll actually like the active version better. Why not hang onto it to do a comparison and then sell the one then that you like the le...
Audio Horizons TP 2.0 Preamplifier
I agree with Cedar. It does sound excellent right after turn-on. As to how long the circuit takes to stabilize, I'm not sure. I doubt very long. There are other variables at play, AC, amp and source warm-up, etc. Bottom line, this preamp reproduce...
Audio Horizons TP 2.0 Preamplifier
Markwatkiss, I'm glad to see that you are enjoying your TP 2.0 preamp. To state confidently that it is sonically superior to the Aesthetix Calypso is high praise indeed as the Calypso is highly revered in the audiophile community. Yes, I also don'...
Audio Horizons TP 2.0 Preamplifier
Grammajo, I would recommend that you discuss your needs with Victor Comanchero, Joseph's sale's rep and confidante. Victor is very knowledgeble and helpful and has always answered all my e-mails with great detail. I would have possibly upgraded to...
Audio Horizons TP 2.0 Preamplifier
I'm still enjoying mine very much(TP-2.0n). I recently upgraded its power cord and went with the ultra-expensive Siemens CCa tubes. Both brought the sound to a new level of sonic bliss for me. I don't plan on selling mine any time in the near futu...
Wife/girlfriend or audio: if you had to chose?
Donshoemaker, Now that you mention it, my wife's constant nagging did give me frequent "listener's fatigue". No wonder I'm enjoying my music now better than before.
Interesting review on new subwoofer technology
I just realized that one needs either an attic or a basement for this TRW woofer to function properly. Unfortunately, I have neither, so it will be a while before I can take advantage of this technology. U-571 is an awesome movie with a great soun...
What's your profession? Age?
Hey Tigerclose ! You have any NOS tubes you want to part with?
Wife/girlfriend or audio: if you had to chose?
Besides my music, my dogs are the only things that give me unconditional love.
Wife/girlfriend or audio: if you had to chose?

Interesting review on new subwoofer technology
Yes, Jeffrey, I read your thread back in October when you mentioned seeing the unit at the Rockey Mt. Fest. I've always read and respected J. Peter Moncrieff's reviews and this subwoofer has totally enthralled him. It is definitely on my wish list...
