My favorite local FM Station is using HD Radio ?
I've heard a remarkable difference in several FM stations lately, and I haven't changed tuners. Researching this revealed the stations have gone HD/digital, and I haven't.
Advice with changing a tonearm???
I'd contact Linn USA and get it fixed. Going to the 550 (former owner) would not be a step forward... IMO.
Analog Upgrade Suggestions Welcome
I did the the III to IV and also own a 309. Even w/ occasional use, 15 yrs is quite a long time. Um, have the headshell lead connections been cleaned during that time? --grin--Cart is a Clearaudio V. Wood, not tweaky weird about setup, reasonably ...
which solder do you recommend?
I've gotten a good recomendation on lead-free, Kester SN 96. Leaded solders are surely going to disappear sooner or later, and I can't believe lead has any sonic positives , no matter how much silver is tossed in.Do not, do not learn to solder on ...

Hospital Grade recept's have nylon faceplates for durability. They have increased plug pullout specs per UL standards - they grip like a heart attack.Spec Grade, Commercial Grade are ad words with no standards to compare them. However, they are *a...

Sorry - a couple more newbie analog questions
Turn it off 'till you get used to handling LP's. Come to think of it, 'taint no reason to ever not turn it off. Sometime, someday, you'll either: drop the thing and have it hurled off onto the floor, or worse, on it's way down to the floor, the LP...

The instruction manual for the 309 will have drilling instructions, but nobody really does that themselves. An HW-19 IV with a Jr plinth doesn't make sense. It sounds cobbled together.? Is it a Jr. with a IV platter/bearing upgrade? 19's come with ...
Breaking in power cords
Cello-The problem w/reefers as a burn-in tool is, as you noted, they are primarily off (unless one believes the light stays on.) This is increasingly the case the newer they are, and more so if they are an EnergyStar model. It also depends on much...
Breaking in power cords
Respectfully; if your refrigerator runs 24/7, it's broken.
Breaking in power cords
I refrained from Fisher-Price brand with a lightbulb inside cracks .Very unusual appliance. 16AWG PC...? My 240V antique is a 3-10AWG PC. The 50 min. may 'splain it all, since it should be 'bout 30-40 min, tops.No SST, but cleaned the PC brass pro...
Breaking in power cords
Maybe, just maybe, there's a tiny, really tiny, stackable electric dryer that requires a 120V circuit, but, - I dare say that *any side-by-side model out there is a dedicated 30A, 120/240, 3 or 4 wire ('pending on local codes and/or age of equipme...
Good Better Best Interconnects
Buy to a price point and move on.
equitech vs. BPT
One of those brands is UL third-party listed and labeled. The other isn't...like so much other audio products.
