Wilson Sophia vs. Piega P10
Thanks for the input. Buying used, so no demo available. However, at 15' x 26' I think my room should be sufficient for the Sophias. I never had any issues with the bass of the Piegas, it's the best I've had in my room. So if the Sophia is better,...
Any Thoughts on the Sonic Frontiers power 1?
I owned the Power 2....briefly.I didn't warm up to it (no pun intended). It had an upper midrange glare and a upper midbass hump that completely disappeared when inserting any other amp. I thougt the DNA-1 deuluxe monoblocks I also had at the time...
Smallest speakers that ROCK
Look no further than that used pair of GMA Europas that are posted on the Gon right now. And cheap too.....Shakey
SHOW attendees: please post speaker reports here
"My champs are1) Aerial 10t that I believe has many positives from many best speakers:"Is this right? You mean someone was showing with an old pair of 10Ts? Or is Aerial bringing them back?Shakey
New spreakers sound great But
"even after pulling my speakers away from the wall for a total of 24 inches from the wall."Wow, you make it sound as if that's an extreme. 24" should usually be the STARTING point for where to position your speaker from the wall. Mine are 7 ft. in...
New spreakers sound great But
"the room size is not going to change,"The room size won't change. However, knowing the speakers AND the size of the room would help one determine if he has more room than speaker, no????????Shakey
New spreakers sound great But
This question is worthless w/o some qualifying criteria:1)What are the speakers in question?2)How big is the room?3)Where are the speakers located within the room?4)How much bass extension would you consider adequate?Help us help you......Shakey
Krell or Plinius?
Haven't heard either of those integrateds, but I did briefly own the SA-102. It was one of the best sounding SS amps I've ever heard. I wouldn't hesitate to buy Plinius again if I was in that market.Shakey
Mag 3.6R or 20.1 , Sanders & Montana EPS2
I have owned maggies (1.6 and 3.5) and owned several models of Peter's speakers - SP2, SPX, and EPS2.The Maggies do what they do, and if you like that, nothing else will work for you. I still respect them, if not love them. But I moved on. Montana...
preamp for canary 330 mono blocks
The Canary amps have high input sensitivity and voltage gain making them an excellent match for passive line stages. I have the CA-160 monoblocks and am using a Sonic Euphoria PLC with great results.Shakey
Canary ca-160 or ConradJohnson premier 12
I haven't heard the Premier 12s, but did own the Premier 140 and now own the CA-160s. I would say the Canary amps are better in every regard than the CJ. The Canary amps are well suited for a passive device, while the CJs will probably fare better...
Rogue M-150 versus Canary CA-160
I would not describe the Canary as "romantic". It is a very powerful tube amp that is somewhat neutral, but with just enough tube goodness. It doesn't sound anything like a Sonic Frontiers or VAC amp. Much more musical than that. The CA-160s drive...
Aerial 7B's vs Totem Forest ?
The Forest should work fine in a medium sized room. Not sure how small you are talking about. Contrary to what was posted above, the Forest will NOT fill out a larger room. I tried a pair in a 26 X 16 room and they just didn't cut it. They sounded...
New Adcom GFA-555 se - Special Edition
>All in all it may be smoother, more musical and less harsh than the original.<That doesn't exactly raise the bar very high......Shakey
Canary CA 160 and KT77
I thought you were selling these? Why the interest?Shakey
