Auralex acoustic form. I've had great results with Auralex inclucding the LENRDS. You can see how I used them by looking at the pictures of my system.
Which Pre-amp for Berning amp & Magnepan Tympan 1D The Audio Research SP-10 made the Tympanis sing. It has a way with the bass that really took control of the Tympanis. Of course the midrange and highs were excellent too. The SP-10 worked great with the ribbon tweeter, giving it extension and clar...
Transparent vs Synergistic Research? I use Synergistic throughout my system except for the Digital AES/EBU connection. For this I use to use a SR Digtal Corridor Reference and thought it sounded great, but a friend gave me a Transparent Reference and it sounds much better in all rega...
bi-amp or not ot bi-amp? Biamping is the way to go. It will bring out the best from your speakers. There will be plenty of power for peaks and more control of your speakers also. Bi-wiring can make a differnce too but not as much as biamping!
Mark Levinson/Revel Support is tops My understanding is that ML gets your ok for the maximum it would cost to repair your piece of electronics. The $1000. is the most you would pay if the product was totally rebuilt. From what I understand, in most cases one would be charged some fr...
Which companies also offer good service?? I've found that Audio Research offers excellent service over the years that many friends and I have owned their equipment.
Mark Levinson/Revel Support is tops No I don't work for Mark Levinson or HSG or any audio company. I'm a teacher with a severe audio addiction. I also went through some very frustrating times during the transition and at several points contemplated selling all my gear. I do see wher...
Help for Mark Levinson 31 Transport Your dealer sounds a little confused (actually a lot confused, maybe he wants to sell you something new?). I would call Harman Specialty Group directly. I just received a new transport screw strap mechanism a few months ago. Jamie Cohen is head of...
Vibrapod cones or isolators? I would make the Vibrapod sandwhich. I use 1/2 in glass. You'll need a piece large enough for your components to rest on. Some people like maple blocks and mdf board for this, I don't. You'll have to experiment to get the correct number of vibrapo...
Why aren't component active XOs more popular? It is very difficult to get an electronic crossover system to integrate with your speaker system unless the speaker designer designs and manufactures the electronic crossover too! This would be the best match. This could be offered as an upgrade f...
Bi-amping with "split mono-blocks"? Your idea will work and sound great. I've been doing this for a couple of years and am now using two pairs of monoblocks to drive my Salons with. The extra headroom is a big plus and according to Kevin Voecks at Revel, even thought there is not an...
Preamp for ML336 I would also lkook for a ML preamp. The 380s is a remarkable preamp and I've used it ewith the 336.
Need Help Choosing A Subwoofer The Revel Sub 30 is expensive but worth the money. The setup software is exceptional. The B-15 is also an incredible sub. They both feature three paramatric equalizers. Kevin Voecks has really done his homework at Revel. There are review at Audio ...
Audio Research and Mark Levinson Sounds like a great combo. ARC tube preamps are special. You won't have any colorations with the Levinson 335 or #39. It should sound great. What speakers are you using your equipment with? |
