Paul McGowan's (PS Audio) autobiography -- "99% True" now available for $4.99 on Kindle I got an advance copy of the book and it made me smile, sad, laugh and reflect on my wasted youth. A great book from a nice guy that puts his customers first.BUY THIS BOOK!
Pre-amp worthwhile?? Denon AVR-4311 with B&W 703's I believe your Denon receiver retailed for around $2100.00 so this isn’t your typical big box store low-end receiver. Also, if it sounds right it must be right. Some people are audio snobs and hear “receiver” or “AVR” and think it can’t produce go...
Pioneer SX 780 Receiver compatibility with RSL 4200 studio speakers Any pioneer receiver or amplifier will drive them to reasonable levels
Auralic Lightning DS App I have owned the Auralic Aires Mini and Aires G2. I sold them both as I found I much prefer the Lumin app, features, and sound. Having said that I now use Roon since I have a Sonos amp, NAD - M10, Cary Audio DMS-500, and a Lumin U1. Roon works ...
which network streamer without DAC? The Lumin U1 Mini is a wonderful device. I use a Lumin U1 as my main streamer and it’s a keeper. Lumin’s support is great, their streamers sound better than anything close to their price and they support Roon, MQA, DSD and they have the best app...
Your vote: Most Useless Audio Adjective Tuneful! Anyone using this word should be slapped
How to tell if some one legit I would be cautious dealing with someone with zero feedback. Ask if they have feedback on eBay, USAudiomart or similar site. I would still be cautious, but using PayPal would mitigate a lot of risk provided the seller has a PayPal verified address...
Speaker upgrade question - Wilson vs Focal @ riaa_award_collectors_on_facebook you have the sensibilities of one that is socially challenged yet equally offensive at the same time. Elitist audiophiles rule!
Ordered a Roon Nucleus Plus What would it cost to build a server to compete with the Nucleus +? It seems like you could build an equivalent server for much less.
An Audiophile is Anyone Who Loves Audio Regardless of Monetary Status. Agree? @n80 “On a more serious side, no, I don’t think you can be an audiophile without a good deal of disposable income.” That is the silliest thing I have heard here in a long time.
An Audiophile is Anyone Who Loves Audio Regardless of Monetary Status. Agree? The term audiophile has a somewhat negative connotation to me. Too many audiophiles don’t know what they are talking about (especially here). I’m not an audiophile just an enthusiast.
If you still spin CDs, this may be the cost no object best option. I happen to think scattered light is a positive in my system. With my setup and my scattered light refraction balancer in analog mode I hear things others can’t detect. Sublime!
Speaker upgrade question - Wilson vs Focal Wilson speaker’s are for old guys with tinnitus or hearing damage. They sound great!
Music Server vs CD Music server gets my vote. CDs are for old guys!
Speaker upgrade question - Wilson vs Focal I owned a pair of Wilson Sophia 2s and now own a pair of Focal Sopra 1s. I much prefer the Sopras. Not a fan of the lower end Wilson’s. I am running subwoofers with the Focals as I did with the Wilsons. |
