Admittedly a bit lost Go on your local Craigslist and pick up a pair of Klipsch Heresy’s or Quartet’s. Few hundred bucks. You can always unload these. If this is your first pair of high(ish) end speakers, buy used. Also, never buy speakers without auditioning first.
Thinking about buying a different tube preamp... Luxman CL-38u. Tics all your boxes. Hopefully, it sounds as good as it looks. There's a review in current issue of Stereophile.
Most overrated audio manufacturers? Pavpet, this is quite a 180 from the rest of your comments on Wyetech gear. What happened? Thanks
Class D at low volume Tim, my comment on getting off topic was tongue-in-cheek in reply to your comment. This thread is educational and I appreciate yours and others contribution. Re my looking into pro amps: It is for home use. The ones I listed are of interest to me ...

Class D at low volume Thanks Pavpet,"I've been into high end audio since 1970,and these class d amps wyred for sound and nuprime/nuforce are killing my very expensive WYETECH ruby"How long have you been listening to wyred? Where do wyetechs fail in comparison?
Class D at low volume Thanks Noble100. Speaking of feedback, what do you think of Benchmark AHB2.
Class D at low volume Thanks to everyone who answered. It sounds like class D could be the way to go. I think I can answer the second part of my question: 1000-watt pro amps will be too noisy on Klipsch Forte II at low volume no matter the topology.
backup cd player Onkyo C-7000R. 26.5 lbs, 2 Burr-Brown TOTL PCM1792 chips in parallel. Pure CDP though, no SACD, no digital inputs. Disclaimer: I've never heard it. But if I were looking for a current production CDP, this would've been my choice on specs purely.
Alternative to Bryston BDP-1 for a cheapskate? Thanks Jon. Glad to here that big lists are manageable from the front panel. I was thinking of maybe reloading 3-4 albums as needed.
Alternative to Bryston BDP-1 for a cheapskate? Jon, I take it you don't have too many files on the USB drive and load them from your PC as per need? Otherwise, how do you manage all the file systems from the front panel? Thanks
Alternative to Bryston BDP-1 for a cheapskate? Hi Jon. Thanks for your reply. Sorry I missed it. For some reason I don't get the emails when there's a reply from this forum and I haven't figured out how to correct it.Question regarding your Marantz NA8005: how do you control the USB drive play...
Resonessence Mirrus vs Sony HAPZ-1ES Calvinj, how do you control the playback from SD card? Does remote app allow you to see the list or do you just use the front panel? ThanksSerge
Alternative to Bryston BDP-1 for a cheapskate? Thanks Akg_ca. Upon re-reading my post I completely agree with you. I was interested in opinions on TEAC and should've omitted any mention of Bryston. I'll just rename my post. TEAC CD-P800NT appears to be identical to TASCAM CD-240, which I also ...
Tascam DA3000: Analog to Digital Recording Crna39, could you comment on the quality of playback from SD or CF cards on Tascam(no outboard DAC) in comparison to your other sources. Thanks,Serge |
