Considering the New Tekton Design Encores? AND Owners Group - Experiences/Questions
protoss71 - you mean you wish the tweeter was higher? that’s an easy fix - raise the speakers.or, if you really *do* mean you wish the tweeter was lower, then get a listening seat that is lower.doug s.
Tekton 4-10 Subwoofer
allexandar - whatever you decide, get two.  two is *always* better than one, regarding subs. better/easier room integration, better soundstaging (set them up adjacent to the main speakers for best soundstaging), higher spl's, and lower distortion ...

shawn3997, you said:"I just replaced a pair of Monitor Audio Bronze 2's with a pair of Lore Be's. I'm shocked at how much better they are."you compare $1300 floorstanding speakers made by a mfr known to offer extreme value for $$$ to a pair of ...

davkobza  -  i wanted to learn about your amp, and among other things, i found this; you may want to investigate...https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/design-flaw-for-line-magnetics-lm-508ia.871472/doug s.
I was literally minutes from purchasing the Special 40's...
what's your room size?  if you have a small room, i suggest spending a third of your budget, and get a pair of proac tablette 8 reference signatures.  better than the 1sc's; i've heard 'em both in my big room, (as well as tablette 2000's), and the...

lancelock  - i've heard that even w/the $1300 cap/x-former/gain (level-2) upgrade, the 07x still betters it.doug s.

davkobza  - my 07x doesn't even run warm, let alone hot.doug s.

davkobza - well since terry hasn't chimed in, i have it on 2nd hand info that, much as he liked the lta, he liked the coda even more.  but i'm sure we're dealing with hair-splitting here.  ymmv, doug s.

i have only heard the double impacts, but reading about the amps used and going into shutdown, someone might want to audition electrocompaniet amps.  i have an older pair of ec aw75 dual mono amps; they're rated at 75wpc into 8 ohms, 140/4 ohms; 2...

ditusa - whatever is it you are trying to say?" sensitivity is not efficiency"- ok, so it isn’t. but if a speaker’s sensitivity is 96dB 2.83V@1m sensitivity, that’s pretty efficient, no?" your amps out put is about 3/4 watts to get 96Db not 1 watt...

jcarcopo - definitely better tweets in the di/se's than the standard di's.  per what i said, i suspect these are the same as what's in the encores, and i think the moab's, ulfberht's, and the prefect set's also use this same tweeter, tho w/diffe...
Considering the New Tekton Design Encores? AND Owners Group - Experiences/Questions
jcarcopo - i suspect the tweeters are the same in all these speakers, except for the waveguides being different.  the encore's and the di/se's seem to have the same waveguide, while the ulfberht's and the moab's have the same waveguide.  and, whil...

whacky - the benefit of having the woofers high & low, as opposed to having both at the floor, is more even room loading of the bass. different locations of the bass drivers means low-end standing waves are more evenly spread out in the room...

what i's like to see is a mini-ulfberht, with the moab's tweeters and woofers, and the encore's two 7" mid-bass drivers between the woofer and tweeter array, like in the ulfberht's, which use four of the 7" drivers.  maybe, too close in size/cost?...
