Very small room! Help me with monitor speakers
I heard a nice pair of small Spendor but couldn't get them home.  I did try a pair of NOLA boxers a bit bright but good detail.  Paradigm prestige and KEF 100s are what I am running now and I switch between them.  I really like the KEF new R serie...
Bookshelf speaker for an apartment
If you heard them and liked them, buy them.  It's your ears that need to be happy.  I was happy last night with my small speakers (R100s) becase they needed to be quieter at 2:00am.  Using Arcam amps with Parasound Pre.  It's a warm sound.

On the classifieds here I saw a few that might fit the bill, again depending on the sound preferences of your ears, and if you are looking for low end or, efficient, volume, etc.  You could also add a sub later if you find the need.B&W Natulil...

I recommend the KEF R100S if you can find a pair.  Also you  can grab a good used amp and for $1,000 the whole system is upgraded. But it all depends on the music, your ears, and how loud you want it.  There is a lot of good gear.  I am guessing f...
audiophiles who are just getting the itch to upgrade
In a mind to notch it up a bit myself.  A lower price range likely than many but the goal of improving is always the same. Speakers are Paradigm Prestige 75 or KEF R100 on quiet daysParasound P3 pre-ampArcam FMJ P35 ampsMac computer for source mos...
upgrade Dynaudio Special 40 to Kef Reference 1
Use your ears.  Audition the equipment at home if you can.  The only way to know if you are getting what makes you smile.   If you can't audition at home bring your gear to the dealer.  Not as good a comparison but you will here some of the major ...
Help in putting together my system with used equipment on Audiogon and eBay.
You could go in so many directions depending on music tastes.  And you mix one wrong item and it is money wasted.  I like a mix of warm electronics with a bit snappier Speakers or vice versa.  If all your gear is warm it could start to get muddy, ...
Looking for inexpensive preamp
Thank you all for the help. I am looking to find a Schitt I can listen to.  Unfortunately it's not in abundance around here.   Just Got a chance to look at a Parasound P3 and a Krell Showcase.  Has anyone listened to either.  Both are in my price ...
BEST SPEAKERS AT A REASONABLE PRICE
I am getting Paradigm prestige soon for audio only.  But I think the Premier would work well as someone else mentioned.  I like the KEF R100 for a warmer sound but they are clearing out the R500 floor standers for a good price.  Heard good things ...
Looking for inexpensive preamp
I should have been clearer about the Brightness.  I did not mean that detail was brightness.  Should have posted as separate statement.  I like a warmer sound.  I like detail.  I don't like really bright sounding.  Thank you for pointing that out....
Looking for inexpensive preamp
I do want a phono section, but could also buy a phono pre-amp
Life after Rotel RX 1052
Depending on your ears I would suggest testing out at home if Possible and no particular order the four below because they sounded good to me. I like a warmer sound and I am using a pre-amp, either a Rotel, or Parasound depending on what I listen ...
Need to replace my Rotel RMB-1095 . suggestions pls
I have been trying lots of different equipment in the lower/mid cost of the audio world.  Right now I am using a couple of Arcam FMJ amps. I had been using some Rotel amps but wanted to try a little more power in my system. Still using a Rotel or ...
Bookshelf Recommendations
Just found a pair of KEF R100s. Suprising low end.  Very warm,  almost too warm so don't put them with warm electronics in my mind.   But for the $500 that I paid they were worth the price.   Can really move the molecules.   I  also liked the NOLA...
