Small green computer sonic transport i5
Fancy casework and branding is the main difference. I think built in storage is larger on some Nucleus, but you can add more to ST if/when you want. If you run along with your library on a NAS, you'll probably prefer to keep your whole library the...
Anybody gone from ethernet to optical for connection to a streamer?
Yes, optical is a big improvement. Can't say enough good stuff about the Sonore opticalRendu fed from a NAS device in another room. A good power supply for your renderer is also very important to allowing you to hear everything your optical change...
SOTA NOVA, HR-X VPI, Technics 1200G recommendations?
@chungjh any progress?
What should I use to convert FLAC files to AIFF?
I've been happy with XLD for many years. Cheers,Spencer
How many of you own an audiomods tonearm?
@iseland ,I use Audiomods Series V w/micrometer and silver wiring on my Sota Nova VI, along w/ Dynavector XX2mk2. It's pretty great, but if it wasn't 3 months turnaround(across the pond shipping twice) on upgrade to Series VI, I'd sure like to do ...
Pre amp for Lamm!
I used a BAT with my Lamm hybrid amps. Cheers,Spencer
room treatment behind TV?
Adam, one more idea, a pro setup guy I know often suggests a diffusor at center between the speakers and absorption behind the speakers. I tried this and found it works better with my Soundlab electrostatics than diffusors did behind the speakers....

Very cool! That will be a fantastic table. I'm very happy with my Sota Nova. Frank Schroeder is quite the artisan, I had the pleasure of spending some time with him a number of years ago at CES. If funds were no object, I'd be lining up right behi...
Bob Backert / RHB Conrad Johnson Mods?
@williepullman Good choice. Bob is one of the most genuine/honest/talented/fair guys you'll ever meet. I know lot of members of the local audio club, PAAG, that have had him mod CJs and Audio Research preamps to great effect and satisfaction. Chee...

room treatment behind TV?
+2 Covering the tv during listening will help. A Skyline type diffuser would be good. Many of them are super lightweight and you can perhaps just mount some clips on them to slide over the tv frame and easily remove when watching. Soundlab's websi...
Make IT Sing
@geleary123 ,Square rooms are not ideal. You might consider a diagonal setup. If you search the archives, there are a few threads on that topic.I used to own Thiel 3.6. They are very revealing & will do a great job but aren't too forgiving on ...

@mijostyn , How's it going there? Give us an update if you can pry yourself away from the music. Cheers,Spencer

@chungjh, While I agree w/ @chakster that mats won't affect sound as much as a cartridge, IMHE, they have a fairly significant impact on Technics tables and are worthwhile. When I owned my SP10mk2, @dgarretson came over with his superheavy CU-180 ...
Analogue Productions announces May 21st release of ultimate Kind Of Blue LP
@bdp24 I'm excited for this, but confused and a bit anxious over whether or not I'll be receiving a copy. I ordered from AS on 5/12. My order confirmation and online account list it as "BACKORDER". The page to order the album (as of right now) sti...
