Granite Slabs
I agree with Gregm.I did marble slabs under my speakers and the bass and soundstage improved. Additionally it seems to have made the definition of instruments better and less muddled or as gregm says CLEARED.
sonic frontiers line-3 vs pass labs x-1
I owned a Line 3 before the Aleph P and the SF had tremendous authority, including slam! The Aleph P is kind of tuby and not etched and dry like some systems I have heard.I simplified my system otherwise Line 3 might still be in play as it was con...
Magneplanar 3.6R + Pass Aleph Amps Mate ?
Thanks everyone for your opinions, one thing I got out of this is the need for power which I am struggling with as am not particularily interested to get into the amp game. Will look toward a very sensitive speaker instead. Thanks and enjoy the music
Restoring vinyl ?

Resonant modes and taming the room
what is above the ceiling, floor joists? And are they running perpendicular to the speakers if so I appreciate your finding. In my room the orientation of the floor joists seems to have made a major difference in the speaker placement.enjoy the music
Pass Labs amplifiers...
aleph vs x hands down Aleph. smoother & more natural. these amps disappear from the presentation once warmed up and that is a boast very very few amps can make!
Pass Labs Xono - Any users out there?
I can't speak to the X but did have a Ono. I used the Ono for a few months and found it uninvolving, so sold it and am now using and very satisfied with a Krell KPE REF. The Krell is very quiet, dynamic and offers a very believable soundstage. I r...
Good but not so well known harmonica blues bands.
Carlos del Junco is not just good but Incredible! Saw him Saturday night with an incredible band all that were mistake free as compared to Carlos. I guess it is easy to squeak out a wrong note or two when you attempt 12 harmonicas and not one a ch...

Dedicated listening room 25' L X 9' H and ? W
any dimension greater than 13' up to say 17' 6" would be a good start. Reason, if you double H=9 you get 18 and this would create too many like room nodes canceling each other.
Rule of thumb for VTA
I don't think there is a set place to start so I recommend the following... start with a level table and raise the pivot end of the arm until high frequenies are not reproduced properly then gradually lower until the highs are pure and the bass an...
Can anyone help me on Audio Research PH 3SE?
54db is likely the bare minimum gain for a .5mv Helikon. My system was set initially with 58db and recently jumped it to 64db via a Krell phono stage for experimentation. So far I like what I hear.If your Helikon is the low output version GOOD LUCK!
