Dogberry,   I've inherited a bunch of old classical LPs from the 50s and 60s that were my fathers. I'd like to listen to them.   Besides that, I'm 50 yrs old now and finally have some disposable income which I'm choosing to spend on the HiFi hobb...

Thanks again all for your knowledge and words of caution.  I like tweaking with things and love gound sound so it's sounds like analog will be rewarding.  I just talked to a local dealer and he has a Clearaudio Performance DC table with a Clarify...

Just don't care for the looks of sota. Except their really expensive ones.  MattM.  Sorry if I'm not cool enough to be in your elite vynle club. Probably a bit lonely there anyway.  Maybe one of the other nice cool guys on this thread will let me...

Thanks all. Very helpful.  I think I'm going to steal clear of an isolated drive table as physical placement of the unit and my lack of knowledge would be an issue.  They sure look bad ass though. I think I'll keep an eye out for a used vpi as sug...

Flattire, i had the same concern about the phono stage so when I started focusing in on the Raven products I called them and spoke to James Cahn. Not sure if he's an owner, a designer or both. I asked him what pre he recommends  and one of them wa...

Thanks macg19. Can you elaborate more on matching phono stage to amp?
Fezz vs Raven
Thanks much Everyone for taking the time to respond. I kinda like what I'm hearing about Raven in the last few post.  USA built definitely a plus for more than one reason.  Big question....how important is the phono pre?  If I buy a nice Raven or ...
Fezz vs Raven
Thanks all.  I was hoping that someone had 1st hand experience with Raven or Fezz.  Maybe the lack of familiarity with the products by the members here is a sign......

I'm all in in tubes. Not worried about fires, but I do appreciate a potential safety risk being brought to my attention regardless of how unlikely.

Any suggestions on one

Thanks for the links pindac.  I guess I never thought of tubes as a fire hazard. I'll definitely look more into that.  Yogiboy, I'm not sure on the phono pre yet. I'm considering getting the NAD M66 or Anthem STR pre.  Both of which are supposed ...
Processor sound comparison- Anthem avm90 vs NAD M17 V2i
I've had the Anthem cinema 60 and traded it in fir the Anthem mrx740. For me the Anthem's sound, especially for 2 channel is hands down better than Marantz for my set up. Marantz Heos app was a nightmare, and ARC gives u much more control than Mar...
