Innuos Zenith Mk3: Won’t Start Properly!
For anyone having a similar issue, tech support fixed my problem by remoting in. Problem was my Innuos was logging too much and the log files were too big and expanded beyond the system storage capacity. Apparently this issue was fixed in update v...
Innuos Zenith Mk3: Won’t Start Properly!
@nyev thanks for taking the time to respond!   I was able to get in, but unfortunately mine is an MK2 model and so I don’t seem to have the option of doing the factory reset when selecting an OS.  I have a support call tomorrow morning and will ...
Innuos Zenith Mk3: Won’t Start Properly!
I was able to get into the BIOS by hitting the Shift and F1 key in alternating fashion while rebooting.  From there I tried to boot into a previous stored OS (the one labeled Recovery Mode) and it booted but ended up with a login prompt for the tt...
Innuos Zenith Mk3: Won’t Start Properly!
@nyev how did you login to the tty terminal?  It always prompts me for a username and password but I’ve never had to setup a user on the Zenith.
Steve Guttenberg finally reviews the Eminent Technology LFT-8b loudspeaker.
To the imbecile above who commented they are Made in China on the fact that  they’re cheap, and without doing any research whatsoever, I hate to burst your bubble. Thigpen builds them in Florida. I have a pair of LFT-8b’s and they say ‘Made in th...
Paul McGowan gets asked about rotary subs.
@bdp24 thanks for the aluminum hex wrench suggestions.  I hadn’t thought about the magnets but you’re right.   @gktaudio you’re absolutely right.  Something my friend and I have pondered is whether Bruce would be willing to make a premium build ...
Paul McGowan gets asked about rotary subs.
I think I found the tensioning adjustment service manual:
Paul McGowan gets asked about rotary subs.
@bdp24 thanks! I’ve read that in the user manual but I’ve just been afraid to mess with it. Really I need some time to adjust and listen, rinse and repeat. But they sound so wonderful even in their flawed state!   I do have the sound anchor stan...
Paul McGowan gets asked about rotary subs.
I have a pair of the LFT-8bs. When I look at them I see terrible build quality. Stuff is poorly welded together. The frame isn’t sturdy (you can move it with your hands). The legs are screwed directly into the woofer box without pilot holes or any...
Who Would You Spend A Day With - Pick Two
I really enjoy a good wintry mix of old classics and fresh new material.     After considerable thought my choices would be Elizabeth Hurley and Paige Spiranac.
Looks like PS Audio has a hit on their hands with the new speaker
From what I understand these are made in China (confirmed by Paul on a PS Audio forum thread), which is disappointing to me. If I’m buying a pair of $28k speakers I would expect them to be manufactured in Europe or USA. Of course PS Audio is all a...
What do we hear when we change the direction of a wire?
As an engineer I can tell you don’t always rely on instrument measurements to decipher human experience.Do you use an EKG to measure love?
Should people who can't solder, build or test their speakers be considered audiophiles?
If this is the definition of a real audiophile I’m going to let myself out and never visit again. Too bad, you old punks are always crying out that there is no new blood in high fidelity audio.  I was part of that younger crowd you’re always clamo...
Guest suddenly takes it upon herself to move my speakers
As a licensed and practicing therapist I get asked this question repeatedly in different settings, but it’s the same fundamental question. Whether it be her moving your things, scoffing at your motorcycle, getting rid of your old torn t-shirts, wh...
Best Way to Integrate Subwoofers?
I have a couple of REL T9/i subs using HLE input from my amp powering Apogee Duetta Signatures.  The subs are wonderful and seamless.  As someone else mentioned, REL has it down.Adding a grounding block to my subs just perfected the sound even fur...
